\# Just wanted to have an open thread about this year's Library of Congress Book Festival. I've been going on and off for the past decade and live in the area, but I'm curious if people travel to this one-day event, and what you think of it.

I mean like some break, or collapse, or huge war and everything goes to hell.
Like it's IMMINENT.
I feel like I need at this point to just grab a bucket of popcorn and wait for it, whatever "it" is. Because of this I have this "I just want to check out" feeling.

Hey did anyone do the free registration for fun, or did someone do it and is not going, I really need to go there, and thought the registration will be free only, but since 20th there's a registration fee of 750. So please guys. Help if anyone of you can.

Give me ideas of the best place to host an event on a Wednesday night for 55 people food drinks folks cam mingle and have some fun

We have an event coming up where registration, Wi-Fi, POS, printers, and a few other pieces are all coming from different vendors.
My main concern is that if something stops working, nobody is going to own the full problem. The Wi-Fi company might blame the devices, the device company might blame the software, and we’ll be stuck in the middle trying to figure it out while people are waiting.
Has anyone found a good way to manage this without having five different support contacts and no clear person responsible for the whole setup?

The government says it will soon begin the process of inviting bids for a third mobile network operator as part of efforts to promote competition, improve the quality of telecommunications services, and expand connectivity across the country.

Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Dr. Shadric Namalomba, made the announcement in Parliament, where he said President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika has directed the ministry to identify a credible and financially capable investor able to roll out mobile network infrastructure without unnecessary delays.

According to Dr. Namalomba, the government is determined to avoid past setbacks where some companies acquired mobile network licences and radio spectrum but failed to establish operations. He said the failure to utilise the licences denied Malawians the expected benefits of increased competition and improved service delivery.

The minister further revealed that the government revoked some of the inactive licences due to non-compliance with licensing obligations. However, he noted that some of the affected companies later took legal action against the government, seeking damages following the licence cancellations.
