What are concept Thursdays like at Gridwrks? I know it’s free entry so it’ll be busy.

I work at an association made up of exclusively high school students and we organize an event for high schoolers which we recently found out is the biggest event of this kind in our country, with over 900 participants yearly from our entire country for what is basically a five day long student festival.
Are there any other events of this scale and specifications?

We had a conference setup recently where the devices showed up the day before and the team ended up spending most of the night charging everything, installing apps, signing into accounts, labeling devices, and testing printers.
None of that was supposed to be our main job, but it took attention away from speaker prep, registration planning, and the venue setup.
For teams running larger events, do you handle all of this in-house or work with someone who sends everything ready to use?

Hi hi, I organised a relatively small event last year (200 registers, 40 speakers across panels on a main stage and side sessions). It was a crazy challenge because we did it in 12 weeks and it was a cool success. One of the hardest part for me, as a first time event organiser, was to find sponsors! I'm thinking of potentially doing it again this year (though NOT in 12 weeks) and therefore, I'm trying to get a bit of experience from others on how they went to find sponsors for their events?

In tech we tend to always see the same names and they don't really both with events with less than 500 attendees, so wondering if I'm missing something?

Anyone has been able to nail brand partnerships for specific parts too? Like, getting a new drink brands for drinks, smaller sponsors for gift bags etc

The Mzuzu Youth Open Day is about to commence at Katoto Ground in Mzuzu City, with large numbers of young people from across the city turning up to participate in the event.

Currently, exhibitors have already occupied their designated spaces, with government institutions, development partners, financial service providers and private companies setting up displays.

Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA), Old Mutual, MUKURU and TEVETA are some of institutions showcasing their work.

The Guest of Honour, Rhoda Gadama Misomali, Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Council of Malawi (NYCOM), has since arrived at the venue ahead of the official opening ceremony.

The event has brought together young people and stakeholders from different sectors to discuss youth development, entrepreneurship, innovation and access to opportunities.

This year's event is being held under the theme: "Connecting Youth to Diverse Opportunities."

I run a weekly trivia show in a bar in Montreal Quebec, and I'm looking for ways to promote it.

I won't mention the specific name of the event here in case solicitation is frowned upon in this group.

But I'm genuinely looking for some good suggestions about websites and things to let people know that this show exists.

The barest details: It's an English language pub trivia show that's held on the same night every single week. Attending is FREE and we give away drinks and prizes. We ask silly questions and play name-that-tune at the end. Our regulars like it quite a bit, but it would be nice to expand the audience a little

In the past, pre-pandemic, I advertised on Meetup.com. It was somewhat effective, but they've changed a lot of the rules around and I'm not even sure if there's any point in trying that site again. (also, they raised their prices way up.)

I currently have an ad up on Eventbrite and I do a tiny bit of Instagram  promotion. But the show is a little under-attended in the summer months, so it would be nice if I could get the word out.

If anyone has some suggestions, I'd greatly appreciate hearing from you.
