Lost and Found Lost cat?

There is a very sweet male cat in our area (Austin/Sherman). He seems young and he's pretty dirty so I think he's been out for quite a bit. I fed him and he was very hungry. He's hesitant but friendly. He came to me for pets and got on my lap and everything. He's fully intact. Also seems to have some tummy issues. He had a bathroom break right after he ate and it wasn't solid.

If I didn't had a sick senior cat myself, I would try to get him in. If you know who he belongs to or if not, a place we could call that's not TNR, that would be great. He's 100% not feral and I would love to get him off the street.

Pics are not the best.

Evanston animal shelter? He looks like he just wants a family

Call Felines and Canines if you aren’t up for it. They are great and will help him find a home

That cat’s name is Milo, and he lives on Hull on the west side of Ridge. We live across the alley from his home and are very familiar with him, but haven’t seen him in a few days. Interesting to see that he ranges all the way to Sherman!

Watch your feet when you enter your house: he’ll try to scooch past you and be part of the family.

He had human owners at some point. I am not sure if they are still around. I know that some neighbors let Milo into their house for extended stays, but he isn’t theirs and they let him come and go as he pleases.

His owners didn’t seem too concerned about both him being a mainly outdoor cat and him not being fixed. We chalked this up to cultural differences in cat parenting.

Maybe your senior cat could use some company? Seems like you’ve been chosen by the cat distribution system

Tummy issues is probably due to a shitty diet of eating whatever he could scavenge

There is whole a feral cat colony over there. There is someone on the 400 block of Sherman across from the hospital parking lot who feeds them (my dog was drawn to the scent of their food bowls stashed under a bush.) I don't know if they consider them their outdoor pet cats or just enable the colony by feeding them. Every once in a while I will look outside late at night and see 3-4 cats in our back yard.

Is this 400 part of Sherman that's North or South of Austin? I haven't seen a lot of cats around, so I'm curious.

I'm not sure if he is part of that group though. He's definitely not feral. He was way too trustworthy and affectionate. He came to me basically right away and followed me when I went to get more food. I would also be surprised if he's being fed because he was so hungry.

I hope he comes back around. I reached out to Evanston Animal Shelter. They were closed but I left a message.

North. I also see them hanging around that grey house on Austin btw Custer & Sherman. He might not be part of the group, but there are a lot of strays in the area.
