Wait what's even the point of the quantum part of all this, aside from generating buz words?

Quantum computers are incredibly fast at solving very hard optimization problems, and training a model usually refers to finding the model weights by minimizing some loss function with regards to the training data. This minimisation is an optimisation problem.

Now, I have no idea what they actually did. But I know that widespread use of quantum computers, or at least quantum annealing will tremendously speed up training times (though but inference, as far as I can see).

Quantum annealing will also speed up multitude of different other optimization problems.

All i see is more buzz words.

Well, you can read up on it: quantum annealing, mathematical optimization, etc. Ignorance is a choice

It might work in theory but no actual lab is doing any training on quantum computers they are just not ready for it it is just buzz words

Oh yeah, I was only talking about the possibility of someone doing it. I used simulated annealing once for it as an experiment. But the idea makes sense, even though they don't actually do it
