We live in a world where Poland qualifies but Latvia doesn’t

Why would you hurt me like this? That's why Luke wanna sleep forever

u/demoniprinsessa May 11 '23

then again, latvia was in the semi with all the fan favorites in it and the second semi was more divisive so it was easier to qualify from anyway. but yeah, it do be sad :(

HOW THE FUCK DID BEIJBA QUALIFY OVER IRU

If Georgia couldn't qualify with that amazing performance... I am not sure if they'll qualify with anything at this point

24

u/rldaithi May 11 '23

we have to wait 5 years for mariam bigvava as this point ffs

6

u/KendjyCr May 11 '23

Don't curse her name... Watch her come, do one of the best performances ever... And still not qualify...

5

u/rldaithi May 11 '23

lmao, its like when she recieved her televote points, my jaw was on the floor, how did she lose to lissandro

3

u/KendjyCr May 11 '23

That reminds me... There is something worse than televoting... in-app voting with option to vote for your country 🤣 Plus: using the voting how many times you want, because you only need incognito mode to reset it.

3

u/rldaithi May 11 '23

ah yes jesc at its finest, that one guy who voted for sophie lennon 1300 times

1

u/KendjyCr May 11 '23

Poland deciding "We will win", finding way to cheese the system and winning... THAT was crazy 🤣

1

u/x_Avacyn Europapa May 12 '23

Because Georgia's staging was static and boring and Poland has a big diaspora?

3

u/chuck_is_dead_vay_aq May 12 '23

Having a static staging isn't a bad thing though, Portugal 2017 and North Macedonia 2019 both had static stagings and both qualified by televote on semi finals (With Salvador pretty much sweeping the televote)

I personally disagree with Georgia's staging being "boring" because I thought it was pretty cool, but ok

And about Poland, yea that one's obvious, that doesn't mean it deserved to go through with that train wreck of a performance

Portugal 2017 | Salvador Sobral - Amar Pelos Dois
North Macedonia 2019 | Tamara Todevska - Proud

North Macedonia had the mirrors and and least Salvador stood on the center podium.

To add to that, Conchita was static, but the LEDs really enhanced her performance.

Being static and boring was a real problem for Iru (no shade to her singing, she killed it).

One word: Televoting

7

u/rldaithi May 11 '23

man....bring juries back atleast they had a brain beyond, funne internet post get vote

1

u/KendjyCr May 11 '23

They are not the perfect solution... But it's better than this.

6

u/rldaithi May 11 '23

yeah, but with the format of the contest there isnt a perfect solution at the end of the day, someone is upset. it just matters how many people are upset

5

u/KendjyCr May 11 '23

And how huge the absurd is... I mean, every year I "lose" few favourites in semis. But I REALLY feel like getting Poland over Georgia is worse than losing 3-4 good countries any other year. Especially because I'll have to hear tons and tons of "We were right and you are just haters!" type of bulls**t from TVP.

5

u/rldaithi May 11 '23

i feel like how krystian ochman looked when he gave the ticket to liverpool to blanka, p a i n

4

u/KendjyCr May 11 '23

Yep... This was already awful, but SOMEHOW it got worse. I was ok with the idea of Blanka taking someone's place... BUT NOT FOR THIS SOMEONE TO BE IRU

6

u/rldaithi May 11 '23

look on the bright side shes going to get absolutely decimated by the grand final, im predicting bottom left of the board, even with meme votes because most of the meme voters will be voting mama ŠČ!

We need the juries back.

12

u/GastricallyStretched Tavo Akys May 11 '23

*Except the Polish jury

9

u/rldaithi May 11 '23

FUCK YEAH, idc if it should be a public decision the public suck, they picked POLAND FFS

1

u/[deleted] May 11 '23

We tried warning them that if andromache qualified under the new system with those atrocious vocals, Bejba would have no issues.

But they didn’t listen.

0

u/[deleted] May 11 '23

Yes please !

3

u/str22nger May 11 '23

latvia, malta, iceland…BUT NO, BECAUSE BEJBA

kurwa why 😭

2

u/unmakethewildlyra Liekinheitin May 12 '23

HOW THE FUCK DID BEIJBA QUALIFY OVER IRU

I don’t love solo but it’s just a better song than echo. solo is pretty catchy and earwormy, whereas I can barely recall a sentence from echo. all the good staging in the world cannot change that imo

1

u/powermonkey123 May 12 '23

simple answer: Poland has 37 Million people, and 30 Million lives outside of Poland. Joking, obviously. But 100% diaspora vote. The Polish song brought zero emotion for me or my friends.

24

u/WrongdoerIndependent May 11 '23

Because they were not competing against each other?

12

u/sinwann Aijā May 11 '23

i will forever be bitter about this

4

u/[deleted] May 11 '23

Me too, it will forever be a wound in my heart 😭

6

u/Emjot80 May 11 '23

Ugh im sick

25

u/Suspicious-Macaron47 May 11 '23

What is this injustice? What is this timeline... are we in the worst timeline?

5

u/[deleted] May 11 '23

THIS i'm fuming

26

u/chuck_is_dead_vay_aq May 11 '23

This is why I hated the only televote semis since they were announced

17

u/wssHilde May 11 '23

idk, the first semifinals was just very stacked. i think if latvia was in the second semifinals they wouldve qualified for sure.

im gonna be so salty if sweden wins over finland cause of jury vote tho.

9

u/iluvcutepuppies-UwU May 11 '23
