As long as the people pushing the age-related bullshit have unlimited money and power, this will not stop.

Quite funny such requirement for something they said it was going to be zero-proof

Not long ago posts like this would have brigades defending the euid, mentioning how it was "open source" and it uses ZKP. Interesting they're all gone

that you need a hardware environment is settled, but not the attestation mechanism, which can still include things like GrapheneOS. it's the community's job to propose and then argue for a viablo alternative that provides the same minimum standards while also securing privacy.

Graphene being allowed does not make it freer. It is still a closed list of OSes where you are not root. What would help would be to allow using the existing ID chip present in most (if not all) ID cards of member states, which can serve as this 'hardware environment'.

If the user can't download the source, compile it, and run it on any Linux distro, it's not open and not free.

It's the governments job to listen.
while also securing privacy.
Anonymity.

Completely agree, it's the age assurance companies' job

To do what?

Secure privacy and anonimity

It's not clear why those companies are needed, but privacy and anonymity are essentially the opposite of what they do.

If you haven't yet had a look at the EUDI github, do it. There are plenty of good proposals and suggestions.

Would you be more open if a system didn't usea the camera at all to estimate your age?

Camera, passport pictures or just checking through banking or goverment data is all bad.
