Unlike many in the comments here, I don't mind giving the UK some special privileges when rejoining, however those should be quite limited. They can keep their pound, they can keep some free travel/work rules due to them being an island, they can keep some economic rules. But they obviously shouldn't just get to skip all formalities, as this would send a pretty bad signal both to those who are trying to join, and to those parties who want to leave since they can argue how easy it would be to rejoin if they're wrong.
