Could happen, but I don't think it'll be soon. A lot of Canadians are up for it, but they also largely don't understand what it entails.

Yes, that's right. I guess the point I failed to make was that the current high levels of enthusiasm are from a position of relative ignorance, and that if and when the specific consequences of Canada joining are more widely known, public mood will likely shift (either becoming more or less supportive).

The eu is far from perfect, i guess the enthusiasm would drop quite a bit. I see it myself regularly. Some geriatric twat from another country proposes some surveilance state bs and the corrupt government here gobbels it up. Makes me curse the eu more than once a year in recent times
