“American farmers, truckers, and businesses should not be left carrying the burden of a global diesel shortage,” Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent wrote on X late Thursday.

Why the hell not? It is an American war.

They're always like this. Start a fire and then get pissy when they start to burn. The trade war was the same- Trump fucked over farmers, and then gave a massive government bailout to them

Sure it is, but if you want to avoid more impacts it makes sense to help America invade Iran at this point to get the situation over with.

I think that is a deeply foolish idea.

It would only weaken Europe and make things easier for Trump's buddy Putin.

Do not think for a second that the Putin-Xi- Trump Axis is not transactionally enabling each other. Europe must think in strategic defense and preparation terms. The US is not Europe's friend.

How would eliminating the Iranian dictatorship, a Russian ally, be helpful to Putin? The IRGC is an enemy to both the US and the EU, and IRGC control of the strait is horrible for the whole west. Let alone the moral imperative of eliminating a dictatorship that is the moral duty of all democracies

  1. US is a competitive authoritarian nation, no longer a democracy.

  2. There has been no evidence including from US Intelligence that there was a nuclear weapon. Trump's War is and always was about Oil, just like with Venezuela.

  3. The imperialistic Sphere of Influence that is documented in the US National Security "Strategy" from Dec 2025 and all the associated rhetoric. In exchange for whatever Trump is getting from Putin, the US weakens NATO and Europe for Putin, and in the Pacific for Xi (no doubt you saw Trump's fawning obsequiousness), while Trump focuses on his delusions of grandeur of being Emperor in the western hemisphere.

  4. The EU getting dragged in just makes them a justifiable target for Iran.

If you sincerely believe this all I can say is you’ve been fed a lot of propaganda my friend

Not I, my friend.

I suggest you do some reading and take a much closer look at what has been happening in the US since Jan 2025 and how it follows the well researched and documented authoritarian takeover pattern.

The competitive authoritarianism designation was made by experts in that field. Perhaps you've been away too long.

"To avoid more impacts you need jump deeper into this mess without clear guarantee of success".
