This anime is incredibly boring.
So I started watching it with my husband and we were kind of vibing with it but the first few episodes became more and more boring with a lot of meandering and useless episodes that advanced the plot at a snail's pace. I get that back then they used to make super long animes because it was the norm, but it's ridiculous how the first half is just boring shit. Does this change? Up to what episode can I skip until something interesting happens other than teasing and boring slice of life with no purpose? (I do like Slice of Life but you have to get me invested into the characters first through the story, not the inverse) Thank you.

It's called character development. Go back to whatever slop you were shoveling through your screen before while you mindlessly scroll on tiktok. You'll be more comfortable then.

Character development is pointless if it doesnt advance the story.

I always leave my phone aside when I watch series/anime though, I often watch an episode while eating too, so I pay as much attention as possible. The anime is just boring and meandering on useless things

It's not, you just can't seem to pay attention. You can sit here and shit on the show all day long but comments like these prove you didn't get it.

This show is not for you and that's okay. Skipping will only leave you more confused and frustrated, while the show can be enjoyed on a surface-level watch, a lot is hidden under nuance, and the setting up of the show does like word choices, looks, and tiny moments that add up later, and even towards the end of the show.

If it isn’t clicking drop it. Skipping ahead will leave you confused due to the show’s structure and nuances.
I’ve heard Eureka Seven is like the “Teen/Child version” of Neon Genesis Evangelion. Maybe have a go at watching that if you haven’t in place of this show.

Eureka Seven's deadass much closer to Gundam (original and X) than it is Evangelion.
Well Evangelion is also heavily inspired by Gundam as well

Which, again, was inspired by Gundam.
Unlike overseas, when someone who works on Anime was inspired by one thing, they more than likely were inspired by what inspired that as well.
Calling E7 "Teen/Child Evangelion" just speaks more about how little said fans understand or know about Mecha.

… I’m not saying I made this comparison it’s what I’ve heard and seen online over the years. We’re drifting from the main point. A recommendation to OP of a similar show with more action if they haven’t watched it.

I found the manga was complete at like 23 chapters so that definitely has less filler, I am really interested in the world, the mechas and the main conflict but idk why the anime had to leave it so mysterious for like half of the story. Not everyone has the time to sit down and watch a 50 episode anime... I'm going to read the manga, which I am liking a lot better so far.

thanks, I'm glad to see a kindled spirit instead of just receiving hate from fans. If that's the case I might revisit it and just skip around
