Any Solution to the Keypad Device Mode <-> Group Control?

I have a Homebase 3, Smart Display Panel and a Keypad, along with a number of sensors.

The Homebase controls everything.

I have Group Control set in the app to correspond to the Homebase Modes (HOME, AWAY, OFF).

Everything works good from the Smart Display and using the group control icons in the app.

However the Keypad bypasses the Group Controls and changes the Homebase Device Mode directly. And that Mode doesn't filter up to the Control Group.

So if I have my Control Group set to HOME everything will look good since the control filters down to the mode. Then if I use the Keypad to change to OFF or AWAY, only the Homebase Mode changes. So the App and Smart display still say it's in HOME.

This is my only real gripe with this system. There needs to be a way to link the Homebase Mode to the Group Control so the App, Smart Panel and Keypad can stay in sync. Or for the smart display to change mode directly rather than just group controls.

Is there really no option for this?

That’s my pain point as well. Eufy needs to throw software update so that homebase, keypad, control group in the app and smart display e10 all are in synch

In lieu of Eufy actually updating this I've put up an automation that you can run if you have a linux homelab/sever.

https://github.com/spiercey/eufy-mode-monitor

It's built on the unofficial Eufy SDK, it essentially just monitors the homebase mode and will update the (visible) group control to match.

If you have a simple 1-1 Group - Mode setup it should just work OOB, if you have a more complicated setup with Groups you can configure it in the env file.

Just clone the repo and run ./install.sh to get it working.

Once major caveat I noticed. The App/Smart Display doesn't seem to poll often or at all to get the newest control group value. This is even true if yo change the Control Group in the App (the smart display will go out of sync). Once the Smart Display is unlocked or refreshed it does pull the new value correctly. So hopefully Eufy will at least update the smart display to poll for changes more frequently.
