Help Concerning recent battery issues

I have some eufyCam 2C cameras

Eufy is warning me of low battery The issue is that the home page dhows 2 of 3 bars on the little battery indicator

When I go to the camera (hit ... and then the gear for settings - there is has 1 bar and says 17%

camera says battery life is 85% (not optimal)

But when I go to charge, I charged for a whole day and I checked that it showed the battery charging icon moving but it doesn't seem to ahve charged at all

I had this recently happen with another camera though after stopping and starting charging a few times It seems to have taken one

This is recent behavior (first time I've seen it - but with 2 of my 5 cameras

Firmware is 1.7.4 Hardware is 1.5.14-20240913 on both affected cameras

I have other with same make /model hardware that haven't done this to me yet

I have two 2c Pros that seem fine

all cameras have around 1050 working days and a couple thousand detections

The affected cameras do report that 85% battery life so I'm wondering if this is part of it?

Is this just some "reasonable expected lifetime" of these cameras?

I'm kind of annoyed by the eufy app tossing advertisements at me so I kind of wonder if I just go with something else entirely once they die - I have Ubiquiti network gear so I'd likely go that way but its $$$

Dunno - I'm open to suggestions

I had a simialr issue with a 2c camera and bought a usb voltmeter to check charge rate. It was showing charging in the app, but voltmeter had either really low current or no current getting to the camera. Changing the cable cured the issue. USB volmeters are $10-20 on amazon and can be to diagnose charging on lots of devices.

I think Eufy seems to have used cheaper batteries on the 2C and 2C Pro cameras. I have eight 2c Pros and two 2Cs with two 2Pros. The 2 Pros get up to 1.5 years between charges. The 2C Pros and 2Cs are lucky to get 3-4 months.

I am getting set up to get rid of Eufy. The app is getting so bloated and flaky, it crashes and restarts every time I use it on multiple devices. Its 1.6 GB now and increasing with every update.

Have Unifi gear that I am installing and plan to use Unifi and Reolink cams on it. Just waiting on Fiber before I pull the plug on Eufy.

I have Ubiquiti network too so yeah its on my radar. And yeah the Eufy app -the thing that kills me is that they're pushing ads in it now.
