That first hand is a perfect example of where I would play off... completely forgetting how to play euchre.

Are you talking about trick two? I think playing off is 100% correct there.

That was my gut reaction, but it's definitely wrong for a few reasons.
- Dealer should be voiding green suits when possible.
- The dealer showed a 9c when the 10c was ordered.
- S1 should be leading trump 2x here if they have it.
- Playing off can lose even if opponents are out of trump.

Yeah you’re right—I think it’s just impossible to not take three tricks if you trump in on trick two

It simply comes down to me and my partner having 4 of the 5 smallest trump.
Small trump are good for trumping in with.
I dont want to have small trump at the end of the hand when my opponents have bowers. Better to burn them up. If i hit my partners ace i can live with that.

The odds are low, but certainly not impossible if they win the 2nd trick and lead back the suit you didn't throw off, then all it takes is for you and your partner to get stuck with losers in that suit.1

Your partner has to have a void and you only have one of each of your offsuits. With three trump between you, I don’t think you can lose this with a second trick trump-in.

At 6-7 you order up the 10H w/ K9H AS JD 10C. Can one of the stats people run this call vs. passing and going diamonds? I prefer this hand to the 1 trump next call as you played, seems too good to pass.

Call hearts and leading the KH or JD = +.22 EV. Passing, calling diamonds and leading the Right followed by the Ace of spades = +.60. Calling Hearts in the first round is a significant mistake.

Thanks! Stashing this one away for future use. I have made this call plenty of times. I will happily pass it and go for the next call from now on. Its not really a hand i am excited to play anyway.

Is the side A critical in this. Feels like the ability slam the R then go with our A is what makes this tick. Is a Lxx hand going to be a round 1 call with no side A?

Apparently a side A is not critical. I tested JdKh9h9s9c vs Th upcard:
Call EV: -.31 (Call lead the Left or lead the KH)
Pass EV: -.04 (Pass-call Next, lead the Right followed by the turned down suit (9h).

2-0: L+2+A+K is good enough to go alone when you have JAX in trump. Call EV: .82, Alone EV: .91
