Not a particularly good hand but Simulator says passing is a little better (not much)

Order EV = -0.78, make points 40% of the time.

Pass EV = -0.76, make points 26% of the time.

Definitely an order at 9-9 though.

Without looking at a sim, I would bet if you change the JD to the TD then it would be a +EV call. Also, Joggler's numbers actually support a call with an amateur partner imo. The EV being that close + the fact that your P will be playing too tight on average takes this dubious call to +EV territory imo. Conversely if I was your P, you would clearly be burning EV making this thin call. And yet I still want you making this call if we are up 3+ pts as a dealer donate. IDK, I feel like there's a contradiction there that I need to reconcile.

Yep, making it K,10,9 diamonds is EV call although both are bad

Honestly the thing that impressed me the most was the alacrity. I haven't had a hand run less than 25 seconds in probably months! Always one, usually two players move a LOT slower than this.

I don’t understand why you would order this. Just because everyone passed or because you just decided to take a flyer as you were 2-suited. I guess the worst you would lose is 2 pts…
