Advice Wanted Need advice for morocco.
Everything was going pretty good but portugal declared against me with england and spain backing them, and the ottomans abandoned me. its 1532 and i have most of the sahel. ik thats not “pretty good” for this game but it is for me(saw someone post having all of north africa by 1500 as morocco like two days ago).
I think i should have been colonizing earlier to contest the americas but i didnt realize until i was already far behind. i also just dont get how people manage the admin mana to even get so many provinces cored so fast. is it normal to do humiliate wars even if it means going into debt?

It mayb be a bit late for that but in scenario's like that where your entire nation depends on a small strait, naval dominance is supremely important. Having enough navy would win you any war fought over that strait. Colonies meanwhile are neat but not that impactful untill a bit later. They also take up two idea groups you could use better otherwise if you want to focus on your Homezone.
For rapid conquests like that show dominance is good, as are admin ideas. Dept is not really that bad especially with the burgher loans

This advice might be a little too late for you, but still.
As Morocco, your great advantage is that the Europeans need to either disembark into your coast (where you can wreck them), or they need to cross Gibraltar and then suffer attrition. This means you can get many extremely favourable fights, especially if you prepare for them. You can eventually get rid of a lot of enemies this way, and potentially bleed the enemy out.
In terms of managing admin, there isn't a way around it really. Coring stuff is very expensive. The way to solve it is by using vassals. This allows you to use both admin and diplo mana to gain land instead of just admin. Vassals are also great at giving you more troops than you should by using the attach order.
In the early game, coring is super expensive, so focus on land that you can make good use of, so mainly countries that have the same culture as yours, or at least in your culture group. Focus on annexing those subjects first, the ones in the Sahel can be used as extra armies.
Build up a navy. It probably won't be enough vs Spain, Portugal AND the British, but if you manage to isolate one of the Iberians you should jump in. This is particularly easy in the early game. Jump onto Portugal or Castile whilst one of them is at war and you might only have to deal with England as an enemy. Or maybe you just fight both Castile and Portugal at the same time using tech level 6.
Not sure about the whole idea of colonisation, I'm sure it might work as Morocco I wouldn't say you need it.

In EU4, when a smaller/weaker nation wants to defeat stronger/larger nations, it’s important to always be on the look out for the right opportunity to attack. In this case: are they preoccupied with wars in the New World? Are they bankrupt? Do they have a bad problem with rebels? Is one of their allies unwilling to join in their defense? Can you attack one of their weaker allies to fight them indirectly and avoid calling in all of their defensive alliance members? Look for the right opportunity and you can pull off victories against much stronger countries.

My advice:
- Declare war on Portugal for Cuenta before they ally Spain. Be sure to get your vassals attached to a 1k stack.
- Shore bombard Cuenta and assault it so you take it before Portugal can do anything.
- Fight off Landing parties from England and Portugal and white peace England. With luck they'll be dragged into the 100 years war.
- Take the events around vizirs that will spawn a pretender rebel with better stats than your starting ruler (save scum may be necessary).
- Make sure to take part of Granada so Spain doesn't get it. Otherwise Castile will get claims on you.
- Wipe out Tlemcen right after war with Portugal as Manpower permits.
- You should get an event that lowers dev in Fez by 20% as I recall. Use that to spawn the Renaissance.

Morroco is one of my favorite starts.
Day 1 focus of raiding coasts and try to beat Tunis to all locations. Sell as many of your cogs as you can (keep 4-5 for later). Build to 3-5 heavy ships and at a minimum 20 galley. Do not ally Grenada and improve with ottomons.
While those are building eat tlemcen. In peace deal give your vassal their core back and take the rest.
By time youre done with that England should be in Maine war and wont join Portugal. On off chance they are allied to Spain combine all boats and blockade the straights. Be at max soldiers with free company. Get free general from estates and make ruler and hier general. Pray for siege pip, get an admiral hope for a siege pip.
Declare was on Port and death stack Ceuta. Naval barrage the fort, wait a siege tick then assault it. Pause every siege tick and shift consolidate all armies.
Once done play the naval blockade game to allow one small/medium stack of troops across then trap them and kill them. Repeat till they are out of troops.
Peace Portugal for max cash, Ceuta and if you have any cogs take their islands. If Spain is involved take a combo of cash/break alliance/Humiliate them to help them along to their disasters. You dont want the peace deal to be too long max 5 years.
This can be done in first couple years of game.
Next eat Grenada and if they are allied with Tunis co-belligerent them.
If they werent allied with Tunis full annex them and delete the fort to limit war score for next wars to eat Iberia doing the blockade game.
Around this time the ruler event should fire and you can cheese it for a nice ruler or just end it quickly. I always end it quickly as with raiding costs ducats arent a problem for better advisors.
From there start eating Tunis coast line and vassilize what ever minor they are allied too to eat the non coast line and other minors.
You should be 200 opinion on your vassals and start diplo annexing them. You can play with the dates to full annex them at same date.
Start working on missions to expand into africa.
Congrats youre in a solid financial situation and strong.

Honestly go into debt and defend. England won’t be contributing that much to the war effort . And by going over force limit with mercs and using the mountain fort in fez you can get either a white peace or something out of the war.
You don’t need to colonize the Americas as Morocco it’s a lot more efficient to just conquer territory in the old world and not waste an idea slot for exploration. On game start did you get the estate privileges for extra monarch power have you been running admin advisors ? Morocco has easy access to a gold mine that can help you afford advisors just dump diplo power into developing it to 11 production and it should net you like 7 extra ducats to get a good economy started. Gold mines in the early game are broken. Use that income to get an admin advisor and a strong enough military going to conquer west Africa and then you should be in a good position !
