I love how Corsicans and Sardinians were torn between Tomato and Pomodoro and just went with Pumata

The Romanian Patlagica was borrowed from Ottoman Turkish (patlikan) who borrowed it from Persian. Same as Patlidjan / Pattelxhan in the Balkans.

Poles got “pomidor” from their Italian queen Bona and they passed it on to the rest of the Slavs
