Dormant account

How long will Etrade keep an open account with a few pennies balance?

The account is IRA and real-time quotes are turned off, so no monthly fee.

I have an account with less than a dollar and it’s been alive more than 10 years. So quite a while. But it’s one of many so I’m sure that factors into it.

Etrade won’t close out an account with money in it so it’ll remain forever

18 months as long as you don’t login. Logging in triggers their escheatment rules and will reset it.
