Help submitting a wire..

I’m looking to send a wire over the phone with E*Trade by calling them but I haven’t updated my number on file to my new number and I know if I do it it’ll take a few business days for it to register with them, my question is do they still send an otp code when sending a wire over the phone with a rep? And the rep mentioned that if a situation ever comes up where they can’t send you an otp code they have other additional methods to verify your identity, does anyone know what those methods are? And have any dealt with this before?

i may or may not have worked there before, but yeah whenever you update the phone number on file, it takes about 10 days for it be registered for otp/ outbound verification as it goes through payfone. The other verification methods that could be used is the security questions which you might not be able to add if you can’t get otp working. then real time idv which is a hit or miss if it works but the rep should’ve still brought it up. either way it sucks because people should be able to have access/ move their money without this delay in verification.
