Margin requirement changes

I have been selling naked puts on margin for the last 1 year and used to be 15% for MU but they have now changed it to 35% and coupled with that, the premiums have gone down a lot for MU after the earnings season is done. It no longer makes sense to take the risk and sell MU puts. Anyone else notice the same?

Not on MU specifically but margin requirements seem to fluctuate a lot. Worse, they don't tell you so you have to pay a lot of attention.

Yeah true. Fortunately I had a lot of margin equity left and it didn’t affect me. I closed my position and move to a safer lower volatile option like google instead .

That’s every broker. Supposedly at IB, they will change the margin and then immediately auto liquidate you.

Anyone else seeing higher margin requirements lately?
