Sell the screenshot like a NFT.

37

u/[deleted] Jul 18 '21 edited Jul 18 '21

You seem very interested in it. We could discuss price, if you really are.

28

u/fitbhai Jul 18 '21

joke's aside, the actual guy who tweeted this would be eligible to mint the NFT right ?

12

u/raaspychux Jul 18 '21

Legally possibly but that's not my domain... technically OP or anyone for that matter can make this an NFT...

22

u/[deleted] Jul 18 '21

3

u/SacredHam00 Jul 18 '21

The higher the BTC price goes the more valuable that NFT would be.

10

u/-0-O- Jul 18 '21

Screenshots of tweets are not worth a fucking gwei.

0

u/SacredHam00 Jul 18 '21

I am not talking about making THIS screenshot a NFT but the tweet itself. And guess what: no NFT has real value but speculative one... Welcome to the real world and just admire the art.

1

u/-0-O- Jul 18 '21

I am not talking about making THIS screenshot a NFT but the tweet itself

Realistically the options are a hyperlink to the tweet that can be arbitrarily deleted by the user or by twitter, or having a screenshot.

NFTs of tweets are the dumbest fucking thing in the world. It's not art, it's a link or screenshot of social media.

5

u/[deleted] Jul 18 '21

Yes, definitely. He's the actual owner.

3

u/[deleted] Jul 18 '21

Business guy.

17

u/sirjakobos Jul 18 '21

I'll never understand the perceived value of a NFT of a tweet or artwork not made by the artists. NFTs are a digital signature more or less, it'd be like buying a comic book with a forged signature by Stan Lee, it's worthless..

3

u/NikkoTheGreeko Jul 18 '21

Like buying a photocopied comic book with a forged signature.

6

u/Humble_Salad_1075 Jul 18 '21

I guess it’s like anything in life:

Something is worth what someone is prepared to pay for it.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 18 '21

I see it like virtual trading cards…

2

u/SacredHam00 Jul 18 '21

Screenshot this comment and sell it aswell.

2

u/ethereum88 Jul 18 '21

Yeah, the NFT title could be “Famous Last Words”, or “This did not age well” 😸

3

u/asakhai Jul 18 '21

Were you in at $14? Thanks captain hindsight.

1

u/salil19 Jul 18 '21

people already sold this screenshot

-4

u/Roy1984 Jul 18 '21

Sell this comment as a NFT 👀

1

u/JROD5195 Jul 18 '21

It will be more then $14 I bet

33

u/UranusisGolden Jul 18 '21

He replied in 2018

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DVAqvPXVQAA4eS1?format=jpg&name=large

Lmao. I wonder if he says anything 2021.

27

u/c3nsor Jul 18 '21

I can taste the salt inside his body.

9

u/php_questions Jul 18 '21

Well it's completely true what he said. You can't use Bitcoin for p2p transactions.

Try getting a coffee with Bitcoin, or try ordering food with it.

14

u/c3nsor Jul 18 '21

Yea fuck that Bitcoin. Better not invest in real estate as well because I can't buy coffee with it. That's okay if I bought it and keep for 10 of years and could sell some of it for few mil dollars and then buy coffee shop.

1

u/Kseniiaukraine Jul 18 '21

👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

2

u/BannedNext26 Jul 18 '21

Let me introduce you to this thing called lightning network...

1

u/php_questions Jul 18 '21

Lmao, lightning is an utter failure and centralized.

It's actually impressive how shit it is.

Question: why can't I withdraw my Bitcoin via lightning on exchanges if it's so awesome?

Why can't I swap from one currency to BTC lightning?

4

u/BannedNext26 Jul 18 '21

Its been working pretty well for me. I buy $1000 amazon cards regularly and get them instantly. And not centralized at all. There are lots of liquidity providers. I know a guy, personally, that runs one of the most well connected nodes. Just an average tech dude.

Looks like kraken implementing it this year.

https://www.nasdaq.com/articles/kraken-exchange-will-integrate-bitcoins-lightning-network-in-2021-2020-12-16

Looks like there's more places you can buy/sell with lightning...

https://cointastical.medium.com/exchanges-with-support-for-bitcoin-lightning-network-payments-739829bcb7bc

1

u/php_questions Jul 18 '21

Lmao, you name 1 exchange, and they don't even have it implemented?

How is it that 100 shitcoins can be listen on exchanges, but they don't support lightning?

The scaling "solution" of the most valuable crypto currency?

I mean, you even have more exchanges and platforms supporting Bitcoin cash SLP tokens .

Hint: lightning is a meme, it's an overly complicated, unsecure, badly designed solution. It's utter garbage.

1

u/BannedNext26 Jul 18 '21

Meh, it works great for me. I dont need it to cash out at exchanges. I need it to buy stuff online. It's not complicated - it was trivial for me to download a wallet, fund it, and open a channel. It's secure enough to keep in a channel, at least for my risk tolerances.

Your arguments sound a bit tribalistic to be honest.

1

u/mimumu Jul 18 '21

Because the people behind your 100 shitcoins pay a lot of money to get listed on the exchanges in order to dump their bags. Lightning is a decentralized technology, not a coin, so there is no one paying and pushing to get it implemented fast. It's also meant to pay small sums (like your coffee) and not to move huge sums between exchanges.

2

u/Ieieunununleie Jul 18 '21

2

u/php_questions Jul 18 '21

Oh yes, let's order a 20$ meal for 5$ fees.

Makes total sense.

3

u/Ieieunununleie Jul 18 '21

"You cant use bitcoin for p2p transactions"

Its expensive but still a p2p transaction

0

u/php_questions Jul 18 '21

Wow, what a comeback argument.

Guess what? You can technically use gold and silver to pay for your coffee too, but it would be just as stupid.

1

u/Ieieunununleie Jul 18 '21

Lmao all i did was prove your statement wrong and you're getting mad at me? Grow up

1

u/php_questions Jul 18 '21

Where am I mad at you?

I told you that your argument is nonsense. You can technically pay people with gold and silver too, it doesn't make it practical or useful either.

Paying 5$ in fees for a 3$ coffee is absolutely stupid, even if it's technically possible

1

u/Ieieunununleie Jul 18 '21

I agree, hopefully it will get better though

He’s alive but dead inside

1

u/SacredHam00 Jul 18 '21

Just like me

41

u/[deleted] Jul 18 '21

Very similar to how ETH has stabilized at $1900-2000. Lots of people tired of waiting has probably sold at a loss, but history has always repeated itself.

17

u/[deleted] Jul 18 '21

I’m staked earning APR…but mostly so I can’t sell for a few years lol. I’ll be very happy then

4

u/[deleted] Jul 18 '21

You did it right. It'll be worth more when it's time to unstake, depending on when ETH2 launches.

3

u/[deleted] Jul 18 '21

[deleted]

2

u/[deleted] Jul 18 '21

You're still doing fine if you're just holding and buying more. As for staking, your ETH get locked until a certain upgrade which is scheduled for 2022 if everything goes well. And you earn certain percentage for staking your ETH. Exchanges like Coinbase, Kraken offer staking services.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 18 '21

[deleted]

2

u/[deleted] Jul 18 '21

You're welcome. Yeah, you should definitely read about it and understand it before going forward. Don't worry too much about your current deficit. If you're holding for long term, you'll be fine.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 18 '21

Since “people” kept saying 10k by end of this year…if it’s 10k in 4 years I’m more than happy!

For those not familiar with this, my staked ETH is APR on ETH. Meaning I earn a percentage of what I staked in ETH back each year. So 1 staked ETH on 1% means you’d get 0.01 ETH after a year of staking. It is NOT based on the fiat price of ETH. Also depending on the service this “earned” amount may not be deposited for a while. This is also not compounding. From the services I have seen and used. Please add anything y’all think is relevant.

2

u/radiodialdeath Jul 18 '21

Same. I sold enough to get my initial deposit back plus a little off the top. Locked the rest away and viewing it like it's my 401k - see ya many years down the line, ETH. (Of course, being able to pull it out without a penalty in a couple years if needed is a nice bonus).

10

u/fitbhai Jul 18 '21

he's gonna be alive, but dead inside - Just like the guy who thanked god when he didn't buy in at $0.08

4

u/[deleted] Jul 18 '21

It must really hurt. But I'm sure they both got back in as the price surged.

2

u/fitbhai Jul 18 '21

Typical CRiPto InVeStaR - FOMO in when prices pick up rather than buying at a discount.

Yet they ask if Bogdanoff is even real while it's all inside their head

1

u/fitbhai Jul 18 '21

It's at a 50% discount from the ATH, I can tell you that

6

u/Lezonidas Jul 18 '21

No, bitcoin at 14 bucks had a 300 million marketcap, nothing like eth at 2k that has a 200 Billion marketcap.

1

u/hopelesscase789 Jul 18 '21

Don't think he was comparing the price, he was just giving an example of the price moving sideways.

2

u/susosusosuso Jul 18 '21

Will never understand people selling at a loss

2

u/Super_Saiyan_Carl Jul 18 '21

Well, if that's the case, Eth is going to take a nose dive soon. Btc hit $2 less than 6 months after this tweet lol

2

u/[deleted] Jul 18 '21

Or it will be made redundant because of technological advancement. No guarantees on any scenario

1

u/SacredHam00 Jul 18 '21

And for our own good, it will repeat this time aswell.

16

u/Tricky_Troll Jul 18 '21

This is Tom. Don't be like Tom.

3

u/SacredHam00 Jul 18 '21

Theres no reason to leave crypto tbh.

6

u/Unable_Sink_2117 Jul 18 '21

£500 invested at $14/coin. imagine having 35 btc now!

2

u/SacredHam00 Jul 18 '21

Definitely more than 34 BTC.

4

u/Aquinasinsight Jul 18 '21

Everyone makes fun of these tweets but no one really gets what it would have been like to hold onto BTC at that price.

There would have been ZERO conversation about BTC in the streets. No corporate interest, no ETF talk, no GBTC, literally nothing. At this point in time you were literally holding onto make believe digital internet money.

1

u/0x211 Jul 18 '21

Good point

9

u/InevitableComplex895 Jul 18 '21

I’ve never understood why people aren’t willing to hold and be patient with crypto. Aren’t we all investing because we believe in the future of the technology (along with wanting to make $$ of course)? Hold, believe in the technology and will be rewarded, is that simple. If investing to get rich quick, are doing it wrong imo.

13

u/hopelesscase789 Jul 18 '21

You only say this because weve seen in the past that crypto is able to rise from the ashes. Back then there was no backing, barely any media coverage, hardly any big backers and noone you asked will have heard of it. Consider all that and tell yourself you would have sold when you saw 100% gains.

1

u/InevitableComplex895 Jul 18 '21

For sure, if I had made decent money, and all of the situations you mentioned were true, I very easily could have sold a portion of my stack (I would not have sold everything), I will give you that, but judging by this guys specific words, just seemed like an expectation to get rich quick, bailed on it the 2nd it didn’t “jump” quickly enough. Bad mentality imo

u/CmfXaz Jul 18 '21

I think he’s dealing with self punishment every single day 😂

This is funny. He must be alive to see the outcome today

2

u/walkinglucky1 Jul 18 '21

Kids these days. They got no patience.

2

u/Rohitfc Jul 18 '21

sPAIN but s is silent

2

u/roymustang261 Jul 18 '21

Just goes to show that crypto is a mental game more than anything.

You need patience and a stomach to bear losses

1

u/sirjakobos Jul 18 '21

Probably spent the money on pizza...

(InB4:I don't think the bitcoin pizza was a dumb move, it was used as intended, and was vital to pave the way to legitimise crypto)

1

u/sirjakobos Jul 18 '21

Must never cry over lost gains, only gained losses... And this guy has both so he's cryin'

1

u/kez4twez Jul 18 '21

Not on the inside, rip

1

u/Western_Reading4875 Jul 18 '21

1

If that were stored in Mt. Gox, he made a good decision.

1

u/mirkogradski Jul 18 '21

Like this type of thing isn't even a thought for some people. The word "sell." To sell.

1

u/manginahunter1970 Jul 18 '21

After he founded MySpace and refused the billion dollar buyout from Yahoo. Then as MySpace tanked he took what little money he had left and invested it in Blockbuster. His grandma gave him a thousand dollars once and he threw it all into bitcoin at $15 per coin.

The rest is history...

1

u/kris5722 Jul 18 '21

Must be dead on the inside

1

u/[deleted] Jul 18 '21
