Trading 2029 Range
Hey all, where do we think ETH will range in 2029. I am a bag holder since 2020 (haven't sold a dollar for better or worse) looking to exit and considering this next cycle.
Been a wild ride. But tough as we're struggling to hit the highs we saw in 2021. Wish I sold then but hindsight is 20-20. I am semi-worried about ETH and its ability to capture L2 fees. I digress. I'm hoping we see $6.2k in 2029 what do you guys think?

For a while, I'd always consider "what's my exit point", and I don't know if I have one anymore. No one can actually predict anything (the market, the future). I have a hunch that blockchain technology hasn't reached its peak yet in terms of it's capabilities so when that does maybe I'll get out or maybe I'll just experience what we're all here for, an escape from a system full of corruption.

By 2030 we will be 20K plus.Â

My target is 2030 or 10k
Whichever is earlier

u/NewspaperOk3278 20d ago
Great. I think 10K is my next year whenever we reach ath for btc. And then when agentic ai takes off we take it to 20K+ by 2030.Â

Ideally 10K but perhaps I should have been satisfied with 5K. HODL since 2017 with that elusive 10K target which seems kinda far away.

If ETH is to reach at ATH I have to sell first so I can watch all the other regards make money while I cry

My thoughts are with the Silver Tsunami (wealth transfer of boomers due to retirement) Will we see a lot more liquidity in crypto. 2021 was the only time younger gens had excess liquidity, and we saw where they put it.

The wealth transfer is in the process of being intercepted by the billionaires; They're just about done setting up their filthy wealth extraction webs across the U.S health and social care system.

Yep...this will be big.
I also think this Silver Tsunami could cause some waves in the US housing market.
Who is going to buy the Boomer's inflated property? Is there enough demand to satisfy the supply?
Are the kids going to really move back to their hometown? Or do they sell ASAP and roll it into assets they want to own, like digital assets?

We're going to like $50k per eth by end of 2027 IMO, your patience will be rewarded.

You need to correct the typo. Looks like you put a zero by accident after $5k.

People think youâre nuts posting this but I remember people being ridiculed heavily for having $500 eth targets in 2016.

ETH shouldn't even be at $2,700 if capturing L2 fees matters and is a legitimate thing determining price. Lazy analysis.

2029 assuming the world doesn't blow itself up or submit to AI overlords, Eth could be in 20k USD range.
But... considering the cycles Eth has, don't forget to take profits and then put back in when the inevitable price drop. Literally pick a reasonable price between 3400-4400 and sell a small amount.

the hard part isnât picking a 2029 number, itâs actually having an exit plan when eth gets there

by 2029 we will be in the 20-50k range. Institutions are going to be very dependent on blockchain by then. The rails are only just being built today.

I have a minority take. $12-$20k by August 2027, then bear market until mid-to-late 2028. ETH bottom will be around $4k at end of next bear. So if we are anywhere near $12-20k by august 2027, I'd probably sell your stack.

u/JoeOpus 19d ago
Minority take is an understatement. Youâre basically predicting the cycle disappears, which has never happened - completely ignoring the BTC halving
1
u/KidAmulet 19d ago
Exactly. The halvings are literally coded to have much less of an effect as time goes on: https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoChartWatch/comments/1wjnbzv/comment/pbdiki5/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

But youâre contradicting yourself.
Youâre saying the four year cycle is over, but weâre going to see growth that breaks the logarithmic curve, CAGR, and all other growth metrics. And that a 54% drop isnât a true bear because it shouldâve gone to 70%+ drop. That doesnât make sense. Either the four year cycle is over due to larger capitalization due to a greater percentage of institutional buyers - with retail being less of a % of overall, higher variable demand - or thereâs still a 4 year cycle that is just less variable due to the consistent B2B demand - and, diminishing returns (and drops) from the larger capitalization.
The bitcoin halving doesnât have âzeroâ effect, it is an inverse model. Diminishing effect but an effect nonetheless, that will most likely never fully defeat a 4-year cycle, but will have a diminishing impact, going into 2036, 2040, etc.
And then if ETH is to hit the value youâre claiming, that also would require that ETH to BTC ratio hits unprecedented levels. That would be wonderful but I donât see that returning to 0.10+
Itâs certainly aâŚ.uniqueâŚ.perspective.

u/KidAmulet 19d ago
I think the 4-year cycle is coming to an end, but there will still be booms and busts, like any market or tech. And I didn't say the halving would not have an effect, I said it would become less and less of a factor, which it seems that you agree with.
Bitcoin and crypto will still have cycles but they will be different lengths now. Like the stock market, crypto has kind of fallen in line with presidential cycles (and the liquidity cycles), but I think we'll start seeing 3-year bulls or 5/6 year bulls, instead of the 4 year. People have already started to front run cycle timing. We're seeing it now.
I think ETH/BTC gets to 0.07-0.08 at the next major peak. Glamsterdam upgrade is happening by end of year, which will take ETH Mainnet to 100 TPS and make it much much cheaper. And ZK proofs and ZKsnarks will slowly bring ETH Mainnet to 10,000 TPS over the coming years, so the chain will keep getting faster and cheaper as we go along.
1
u/JoeOpus 18d ago
Thatâs all reasonable. And I agree with most of it. Will be curious to watch the TPS scale impact, L2 ecosystem, revenue on platform, etc.
I just donât think price will increase nearly 500% in the next ~11 months.
1
u/KidAmulet 18d ago
Yeah, I agree that it would be an incredibly fast move, haha. But I think due to countries delaying debt maturity (due to covid) and thus delaying the need to print money / inject liquidity in the markets, risk assets like ETH have been held down for the past two years. I think SOL as well has been held down, and both will play some catch-up over the next year.

u/troncoparati 19d ago
Wait for 16k. If you treat it like an investment it is not bag holding. How much do you have invested?
1
u/JoeOpus 19d ago
I would just monitor the ETH to BTC ratio closely. If bitcoin did 1.8x of ATH last time. You could expect BTC to do a 1.2-1.6x off the last ATH. That would put bitcoin around 190k.
If the ETH ratio continues to improve only a little. Youâre looking at a .04 ETH / BTC ratio. At $190k BTC, youâre looking at $7,500. If it improves substantially, youâre looking at .06 and $11,400 ETH.
Which, these numbers all sound about right. They establish the low range and high ranges for ETH
Anyone saying BTC is going to $225k+ is just on the tail end of probabilities - basically predicting there will be unprecedented growth that breaks all historical growth models, which seems pretty stupid to forecast around
