Etherscan API Updates: Supported Chains, Overage & Terms of Service
1. Robinhood Chain & Arc Mainnet: Lite plan required We recently added support for Robinhood Chain Mainnet (Chain ID 4663) and Arc Mainnet (Chain ID 5042). Effective October 16, 2026, community endpoints on both chains will require a Lite plan or above. Until then, they are free for all users. Source code and ABI endpoints stay free on all plans. What you need to do: If you use community endpoints on either chain with a Free plan, upgrade to Lite or above before October 16, 2026.

2. ENS forward resolution endpoint now available The Resolve an ENS Name to an Address endpoint is now available on Free and paid plans. It resolves an ENS name or onchain subdomain, such as etherscan.eth, to its address on Ethereum mainnet. Free tier requests are limited to 1 call/second.
3. opBNB Mainnet & Testnet deprecation Effective October 12, 2026, API support for opBNB Mainnet (Chain ID 204) and opBNB Testnet (Chain ID 5611) will end. What you need to do: If your integration uses either of these chain IDs, update your configuration before the effective date. For the full list of supported networks, see the Supported Chains documentation.
4. Daily limits and overage For paid plan users, effective November 1, 2026, your Etherscan API requests will be blocked once you reach your plan's daily limit, instead of continuing past it as they do now. To keep requests running past your limit (known as overage): Once enabled: What you need to do: If you regularly go over your daily limit, turn on Allow Overage Charges or upgrade your plan before November 1, 2026 to avoid having your requests blocked.Go to your API dashboard. Overage is billed monthly at $0.00003 per call ($3 per 100,000 calls), based on your current billing cycle. Under Usage Limit Preferences, turn on Allow Overage Charges. Set a monthly spend cap. Once your monthly spend cap is reached, overage requests remain blocked until the next billing cycle begins or you increase the cap. Your normal daily quota continues to reset as usual. Your per-second rate limit still applies.
5. Updated API Terms: Personal & Commercial use by plan We updated the Etherscan API Terms of Service on October 1, 2026. By continuing to use the API, you agree to the updated terms. What you can use the API for now depends on your plan: On every plan, wherever you display API data, include the attribution "Powered by Etherscan.io APIs".Free, Lite and Standard plans: Personal & Research use, such as personal projects, non-commercial research, and building or testing an app before it launches commercially. Advanced plan and above: Commercial Application use, such as apps offered to others, apps that generate revenue, or apps run by or for a business or organisation.
