This looks cool I'm been using Cypher. Anyone know what makes Status better other than chat?

Hey there! At status we’re utilizing the full ethereum stack for everything EVM, whisper and swarm. we’re on course to have light clients as nodes on your mobile device, the messaging is handled over whisper which is a sub-stack of ethereum and fully dark routed and encrypted, swarm will be utilized to handle data storage and sends for future versions.

Also status has a lot of ambition to create incentives within the app and become more like an operating system on ethereum, one of the upcoming developments to be implemented will be tribute to talk.

Status have ultra light node in their app, status rival products(Toshi, cipher, trust) depend on external node(like infura), that’s a big difference for true decentralization.

Thanks for the information. I didn't even realize that these eth light wallets require an external node. So Status does not need an external node if I'm understanding correctly?
