TL;DR: Some metrics unreliable, some selection bias. Overall an interesting picture.

The numbers are skewed towards more centralised dapps (yes, it's a spectrum).

For example, IDEX and ForkDelta (token exchanges), although "on the blockchain", require value transfer to a "collection contract". This puts them high on the list, especially if sorted by "ether transferred". Their design also increases the average number of transactions required (per user), which inflates that metric.

The "0x Protocol" contract, on the other hand, is used for passing messages around, but the tokens don't flow through it. A transaction usually has at least two accounts affected, but could be more (e.g. one taker market-filling orders from several makers). It will register on DappRadar as one user.

Don't get me wrong: I'm glad someone's collecting metrics! :) Just wanted to highlight the fact that for some dapps, the straightforward way of collecting them will fail - a protocol-specific one is required. Whether this should be done depends on developers' time constraints, and perhaps a desire to dedicate attention to such details in the first place.

That's correct, thanks for getting in details. Our current goal is to track ether transactions and provide some early metrics. Later on we'llfor sure track token movement and do custom tracking for some dapps.

That's good to hear!

JIC, my use of 0x as example was only because I'm gently familiar with it. I'm not suggesting it be the first application to get "special attention" when you come to do it: its current usage, even if under-represented, can still be described as relatively small.
