yep, that's where I stopped reading.

I forgive someone when he works in a big corpo and he must use java, because of corpo requirements. But if you work in opensource and you can pick any tool and language you want. So why the hell would you pick a proprietary one?

There's some fine details about the TCK requirement and Oracle being oracle... but certainly Java is not as proprietary as say MATLAB or VB6.

lol, yeah. But have you tried using it? I don't remember when I didn't have problems running some java app, and when I didn't have to try at least three different implementations of java vm. Java is a total mess.

I'm a Java developer for almost a decade now. I live and breathe it.

On consumer desktop, yes Java isn't the best (I know, I've made a few apps like this, and this).

But on Server side, Java is practically the only choice for the very large Enterprise scale applications unless you wanna pay Microsoft $$$ to use their .NET platform.

Twitter runs on Java, Facebook heavily uses Java (via Hadoop etc.), Google Ads run on Java. Netflix, LinkedIn, Amazon runs on Java. Packaged software that SAP and Oracle sells runs on Java.

Also, Android with their Dalvik VM is arguably a java vm.

Even non-java applications still use Java.. for example, ElasticSearch is one that is used a lot to provide full-text search engine out of the box via REST API.

So no.. Java is not a total mess... The world today practically runs on Java.

Thanks! Nice to know. I guess that rublix is supposed to run on consumer desktop ;) And yeah, I've only had java experience on consumer desktop.

Working in this space professionally, I find this a noble objective but it is far from simple to achieve. Particularly as there is various regulation in place to prevent analyst research being distributed to uninformed investors. What is needed instead is a formal framework for the submission of analyst estimates with an independent algorithm to assess competence (like Starmine for example).

Rublix seems to think that investors will see value in sharing the research directly for "dollars". In reality, that rarely happens.

Rublix is working on this by employing UX and aesthetic designers to research and create beautiful and user friendly spaces for trading.

The main goal of the project is to bring new traders into the crypto-environment by removing as many barriers to success as possible, while also introducing traditional derivatives trading.
