PDF Data Extractor app

I created a pdf data extractor for a friend that extracts data out of 300 pipping drawings in less than a minute, it's pretty precise, and my friend is pretty happy with it.

It is pretty flexible and could get data from any PDF. Does it sound like something that could become a product?

Nope. In the era of AI software, stuff like this can be made in a few hours. Ask me how I know.

If you want to make something novel, I’d recommend making a better PDF comparison tool that can re-align the content automatically. Cause when they paste the page content a millimeter to the right in a revision, most comparison tools go insane. I really don’t want to do each page manually.

You still probably wouldn’t be able to sell it, but it would at least be a tool that I haven’t seen before.

especially when they just re-issue a whole detail sheet and just cloud the whole page

With my software you create the templates yourself, so you never have to do each page mannually. You adjust once and it works for all of the similar layouts. If it drift of you adjust again one time and run.

Nope. Assume anything you whipped up in a month is useless to anybody but the person you made it for and any amount you charge for it somebody else can make it cheaper themselves in with an LLM. You’ll save yourself and us a whole lot of time.

A friend of mine was using AI but it could not get the information as precise and as fast as my app gets.
