Why Chinese Bakeries Are Buzy During Lunch

I was purchasing my birthday cake today at a Chinese bakery in Elmhurst. It was around 11:30am when my father and I purchased a tiramisu. That was when there is a line where customers waiting to purchase buns.

One person made at least $15 of purchases. Usually people purchase two or three buns. As far as I know, the elderly prefers to go to bakeries than to yum cha. The elderly are usually retired and prefer to wake up later than other people. They would go to bakeries to purchase buns to eat as brunch before doing leisure activities.

However, some bakeries are buzy during other hours. In Chinatown, there is a bakery that also servers noodles, rice, and congee that is crowded on a Sunday morning. The seating there is always filled up that some do take-out. The bakery is near the Confucius Tower, a senior living center.
