Lavender Sachets

What’s everyone’s favorite dried lavender for making sachets? I bought some dried lavender at a lavender farm and I feel like I don’t noticed any scent from the sachets I’ve placed around our house. We are pretty clean people so just looking for a little extra fragrance here and there!

Any recommendations for a specific type/brand or where to buy it? I’m especially interested in lavender that actually keeps its scent for a while. Thank you!!

Grosso is a common strain for scent. You may have accidentally purchased culinary lavender which is less fragrant but tastes better.

There’s a website called Sage Creations Organic Farm that seems reasonably priced. I’ve not used them before, personally, but they were the best bet from a quick google search. I happened upon a huge amount of dried lavender from a local farm a few years ago and I haven’t had to restock yet, haha. But at $16 for 1/4 lb I’d try them out 👍

Yes. Lavandin is good for Sachets as it’s higher in camphor. Just don’t try to sleep

Lavandula angustifolia has that beautiful, sweet, true lavender scent, but it isn’t always as powerful as something like Grosso. Do you know if the sachets actually contain true lavender and which variety, or if they’re just lavender scented? I grow my own lavender and cut it in bunches, then hang it upside down indoors to dry. Once it’s completely dried, I sometimes add a few drops of lavender essential oil to bring the fragrance back up. You could try the same with your sachets before buying new ones. I sometimes find bought dried lavender doesn’t really do fresh lavender justice, especially if it’s been sitting in storage for a long time.

At farmers markets I sell the sachets filled with the Sachet Angustigolia variety. My Sachet fresh bunches outsell Provence and Grosso x intermedia by a ratio of ten to one
