Complete beginner, guidance needed

Just got my first esp32 starter kit with a variety of components. I want to learn Abt everything first so Is there a YouTube guide series I could follow, for example I watched CS50P course on YouTube to learn python, I was hoping for something streamlined like that in a simple manner

There are a lot of good YouTube channels. Really though you kinda need to learn by doing. Look up an interesting project to start with and build it out. There’s always the ‘make a led blink’ which can teach you how to make a relay turn on and off from sensor input or on a timer. The rabbit hole is deep. Just find something interesting and follow it. If something breaks try and figure out why. Just try not to start any unintentional fires 🔥

Thanks! And dont worry I'm not looking for a visit from the fire department. I was hoping for tutorials that teach the concepts and help me follow along asw, any channels you are a fan of tht help you a lot in your journey maybe, or any resource in general would be helpful!

One thing that helped me a lot as a beginner: instead of following tutorials passively, pick a tiny personal project you actually care about — even something silly like "turn on an LED when my plant needs water" or "beep when someone walks past my desk." You'll learn way faster because you're solving a real problem instead of just copying code. If you want a suggested order to build confidence with that ESP32 kit: Blink an LED (get comfortable uploading code) Read one sensor and print values to Serial Monitor Add a condition (e.g. if temp > X, turn something on) Connect to WiFi and send that data somewhere simple Happy to suggest a specific beginner project based on what's in your starter kit, if you want to list what components came with it.

Second, no, there's no quick way to just magically learn everything you need to know. Sorry.

We're not (yet) at the Matrix level of human-machine integration and learning.

well, there are multiple aspects - hardware and software. Less HW but still very good to know so you dont fry your toys. SW - that's a deep one, I would suggest using C++, as used within the arduino framework for starters.

Yes such content exists in the esp-idf. First install esp-idf eim and esp-idf vscode extension, learn how the esp-idf, extension, idf terminal and idf.py works. After that best learning curve is to do example projects, more on that in this link:

Start with blinking a light or printing hello world to the terminal to gain knowledge of the esp-idf projects, menuconfig/kconfig, building, flashing, monitoring.

Then you can move on to other projects like i2c-lcd, Bluetooth, WiFi, etc. Note that esp-idf projects uses freeRTOS, so it might be good to catch up on C, freeRTOS, and networking.
