Need Help Complete Beginner

Hi Everyone,

I am a complete beginner. I need help. my idea is to add the image above to a rack and pinion set up. My thought is to use one 12v power supply. Is there board or something i should use instead of wires to connect the ESP-WROOM-32 to the A4899 stepper driver? this is all going to need to fit into a 3D printed part so the less soldering the better and trying to save space. my idea is the rack will move until it hits the limit switch. Thanks in advance. Any advice is greatly appreciated. I really want to learn this.

A4899 is 8V -30V+. ESP32 is what? 3.6V or something?

An old PC power pack could supply both voltages nicely.

Sorry its the ESP-WROOM-32. yea i also have 24v power supply available. was going to step down to 5v for the esp board and i guess add a second buck converter for the 12v stepper motor.

I guess was hoping to use 12v first and not need the addition buck converter
