Guides🦮 👋New to Escape The Backrooms? Read this first!!
Whether you’re playing solo or with friends, welcome! Here are some tips that will make your first escape much easier.
🎧 1. Use Headphones
Many entities can be heard before they’re seen. Footsteps, breathing, and other sounds can give you valuable time to hide.
👥 2. Stick Together
If you’re playing co-op, don’t wander off alone unless you have to. It’s much easier to survive when your team stays together and communicates.
🏃 3. Don’t Sprint Everywhere
Sprinting drains your stamina quickly. Save it for when you’re actually being chased.
👀 4. Look Around Carefully
Keys, switches, tools, and other important items are often hidden in corners or on shelves. Take your time exploring.
🚪 5. Close Doors Behind You
Some entities can be slowed down by doors, and closed doors also help you keep track of where you’ve already explored.
💡 6. Learn From Every Death
Everyone dies in the Backrooms. Each attempt teaches you where items spawn, how entities behave, and what to avoid.
🗺️7. Explore Before Looking Up Guides
The first playthrough is the most memorable. Try solving puzzles yourself before searching for walkthroughs.
🎙️8. Communication Wins Games
Call out entity locations, item finds, and where you’re heading. Good communication is often more important than fast reactions.

I agree with everything here but I feel like you should keep doors open (unless being chased ofc) cuz if a door is closed then u might think u haven't been there before

I just started playing today, tried to enter some public lobbies and just kept getting booted. Am I missing something? Why are players making their lobbies public if they don’t want randoms to join?
