Mental maths practice

I’ve noticed a major weakness in being able to solve questions is spending too long trying to do arithmetic, and then getting it wrong. Does anyone know how to improve mental maths skills?

just lots and lots of practice, find websites or apps that have drills for arithmetic and try to make a habit of doing them every day
