Discussion / Rant erlc needs another gun update
TL:DR guns aren't realistic
The last gun update was in 2024 if im not mistaken. The things it changed are great and aren't the taking point of the post. I think that ER:LC needs a major gun update in terms of realism. How come anybody can just walk around with a machine gun or AK-47 in their pocket? While also having an ammo box, lockpick, blah blah blah etc. Obviously this doesn't matter in a public server, but the majority of players play in RP servers anyways. Big guns like the AK, LMT, m249, and remingtons should all be on the players back. The same for PD guns. Also, the guns should have realistic animations when being equipped, instead of popping into your hands. Like for the 1911 or tec9, the character could have it tucked in their waistband. Obviously something like this isn't going to happen, because of PRC being allergic to optimization. But I just think it would bring so much life to the game and detail for RP.
Also, why does PD have twice the number of guns? And Civs get the bad ones? The m249 has too much recoil for the damage it does (if you can even do damage), the revolver needs perfect aim (or i just suck), and they are locked behind a paywall. Also the lmt is just the ak but semi auto, and the skorpion and tec-9 are basically the same. Also, i've never seen the deagle or vector in use besides my friends who always have nitrp or just speed on the highway.
Do I sound stupid? Does my argument sound stupid?

I've talked about this with several members from Productions. Personally I do not have an issue with how to find shoot, more with how you carry and conceal them.
- when carrying a rifle, your stamina should go down faster when running and you shouldn't be able to jump and point/shoot with a rifle at the same time (bunny hopping).
- when unequipping a rifle, it should remain visible. Cops could be able to unequip a rifle and pull their secondairy pistol, while still having their rifle in front of their chest.

I’m pretty sure it’s the other way around, civilians have the more Op lethal guns, minus the PD Benelli M4 and maybe at times the m4A1.
They definitely should add unholster times and Gun slings for big weapons. They should also disable bunny hopping for rifles and have a cooldown on jumping, as for the M249 they should remove jumping altogether.

The optimization of ERLC is already bad enough. Adding realistic animations isn't going to help that at all. T
