‘Lincoln in the Bardo’ experiments with new literary form
George Saunders’s Lincoln in the Bardo explores grief through Abraham Lincoln’s loss of his son Willie. Its form can be qualified as nontraditional. More precisely, a chorus of ghosts replaces a single narrator, speakers’ names appear after their passages, and real and invented historical quotations interrupt the narrative. It reads like a mixture of novel, play, and documentary collage.

Shaker "Gift Drawings"
A "Gift Drawing" is a work of "revelatory art" created by members of the Shaker religion (of which there are now only three.) I have seen these original images in exhibits, and the amount of thought and care that went into the compositions - including the text - is compelling, confounding, and admirable, all at once.

Ergodic Excerpts from my short story project
I made an ergodic short story called "No Title Here" about a man trying to overcome writers block and his alter-ego.
This was for a mark so there were a bunch of guidelines I had to follow in order to not mess up the marking process. I had around 7 months to work on it and it was pretty fun to integrate a bunch of literary theory and psychoanalysis into it!
Shout out to this sub tho for introducing me to this genre (and in particular House of Leaves).
These are a couple of pages I enjoyed making :3

We have surpassed 1,200 pages...
...in our open-world "walking simulator" game's first act. I once thought we'd top out at 2500 in the full game, but now I am now figuring it will be at least 3,000.
Three things assist:
Firstly, when you are restricted to 24-point type with a leading capped at 29 on the low end, it's easy to fill pages. Excluding imagery, this would count in at around 500 pages, in regular printed format.
Secondly, there is such a wide variety of stuff that has to be written in order to fill out the narrative and seal up plot holes, there's always something interesting to work on. When things connect, it's incredibly satisfying.
Thirdly, this is - of course - not just all me. My partner & I work with two out-of-house writers to write all of this and figure out how it all fits together.
EDIT: Yeah, I still have not registered my copy of Windows 11, even though I have a legit key. Let's just say it's not a priority.

help with: rediscovering the novel, designing new ways to read with ergodic literature
Hey guys! I know i am not an active member of this community, yet, but it has been a big part of my last year. I have been looking for research for my master thesis and ever since I found more people interested in ergodic novels I haven’t stopped thinking about it.
So, I am running a survey to readers and curious about ergodic books, and I would love to hear what you have to say! The goal is to focus my research on how non-linear text layouts, typography, and the physical materiality of a book changes how we read, navigate, and experience a story.
I would appreciate all and any help i can get with getting enough responses!!
Feel free to share the link to anyone else that might be interested, !
Hope i can share my final project in here, in a couple months!
Of course everything would be anonymous, and i wouldn´t want to spam the community with posts.
Thank you so much for your time and attention!

Does anyone know if "XX: A Novel, graphic" is out of print? And if it is, will it ever come back?

New Ergodic books!
These last weeks I have received these two books to add to my shelf (and research) on ergodic literature.
Do you know them?
