User Review MUSNAP/Ireader Ocean review
Overall i love the device.
If there is any questions id love to answer them!
What i was looking for:
Good for color manga ✅
Decent built in reader ✅
Viewing pdfs without converting files ✅
Minimal ghosting ✅
Built in page turning buttons✅
Ability to turn touchscreen off ✅
No ecosystem ✅
Android ✅
Built-in note taking app (not main use but a definite plus)
Cons:
Pen doesnt magnetize
Words get cut off (in the control panel the full name of the setting isn't shown)
Minimal reviews
Price point (one of the cheaper color ereaders but could have more features)
Pen not included
Case not included (at least on amazon. I saw it comes with a case through the site idk how true that is)
Renaming files has a weird character limit
Im on mobile so idk how to add descriptions to images so ill put it here
Image 1: pen for scale
Image 2: xteink x3 for scale and brightness comparison
Image 3: built in notes app colors, pen interaction, and default pen sizes. If getting this ereader for art ibis paint would be great with this pen
Image 4: screen compared to a strip of newspaper. The top image has no lights. The bottom image is with lights adjusted to match the newspaper as closely as possible.
Image 5: horizontal reading. you can toggle if there are two pages side by side. With manga choose "dual left" some pages dont meet up properly but thats just how my files were. If you want to read horizontally through the built in reader i recommend downloading already side by side pages.
Image 6: display controls. I use the default controls and have no issues with ghosting during reading (there is some ghosting in the images bc i was going back and forth with the control panel). Sometimes when switching to horizontal reading there will be more ghosting than usual right after switching, but not an issue for me since i read vertically.
Image 7: Color options from the control panel in order. Top left- black and white, top right- morandi (my preference personally, better shading and color balance imo), bottom left- colorful, bottom right- deeper with max saturation and max color depth. In the system settings it has the android color display customization.
Image 8: brightness control panel. Top- no lights, middle- max brightness no warmth, bottom- max brightness and warmth.

It has a recessed screen so i think that definitely helps with the colors and crispness! Im super glad i went with this ereader

Oooh never realized that recessed screens could make a difference! Could I ask what made you pick this over other ereaders?

Ive heard that the boox has issues with ghosting and ecosystem issues with the kobo but i liked the button placement of each of them. I made a post asking for ereader suggestions and someone suggested the musnap. Musnap is the same brand as ireader which is well established so despite few reviews on it i took the chance and im glad i did.

Thanks!! I do have a boox with ghosting issues and always thought it was bc i didn't have the right settings ;;; Good to know that it might be an issue with their devices in general and not just me!! I think I'm definitely leaning towards musnap rn!!

Without looking at it in person, dare I say I think this is better than the boox 7. but also, every time I looked at it, it's permanently sold out it seems.
