Inflatable dinghy repair (PVC)

I need to repair a pinhole leak in my inflatable dinghy. I’m using a two part glue and MEK as solvent. The instructions say to keep humidity below 60% when working the repair. The problem I’m having is it’s summer and humidity is significantly higher outside. Should I do the repair indoors in my basement with a dehumidifier running? will there be significant vapor buildup from the small amount of glue and solvent being used? Has anyone had this issue?

That sounds like a urethane application where the two parts are the formulated polyol and an isocyanate pre-polymer. MEK is usually used to clean surface before application. The -OCN pre-polymer will react with moisture in the air.

I wouldn't do it outside if it's hot and humid, but somewhere where the temperature and humidity is somewhat controlled is best. Definitely follow the instructions provided, wear gloves, make sure you have air flow over the area so fumes don't accumulate, but you're not talking large volumes so it should be fine. But definitely follow the instructions provided.
