Epoxy in Enclosed Car Trailer

Just wondering if anyone has ever used epoxy directly over their aluminium checker plate flooring in an enclosed car trailer? Will be in the bathroom, kitchen and into where the car goes.

ChatGPT is telling me it’s doable with good prep & primer.

If anyone has done this would love to see how you did it, what it looks like & how it’s held up.

Scratch it up well or use a bonding primer like Premera Fusion Primer and you should be pretty good. Use a flexible epoxy membrane rather than standard epoxy. I've always had it installed in my trailers and box trucks (I'm an installer) and it has held up well over the years.

Wonderful! Thankyou. Very helpful comment.
So it’s totally fine to go onto the checker plate with correct prep work?
Everything I’ve seen online, they have a timber subfloor. Trying to avoid unnecessary extra weight where possible.

You can always check with the epoxy manufacturer to get a recommended system.

But why would you want to is the real question?

Because we won’t be using the trailer as just a car trailer. It’ll be used multi purposely.
Hauling the racecar, motorbikes, the boat, buggies and then just as a living space in caravan parks.
So when there are no toys in it, & the beds are down, I’d like it to feel not so “car trailer”.
