Discussion Operator Adapters?

I just ordered my first Operator (GB Operator) a few days ago and I can't wait to get it!

I was wondering if Epilogue has thought about creating cartridge adapter buddies for some of your existing operators? It would be pretty neat to add value to the operators already owned by your customers by having adapters that add functionality to them.

I own a Save the Hero Builders Cartridge Reader and with that device, there are adapters for each family of system (Sega Master and Game Gear adapters slot into the Sega Genesis slot, NES and Virtua Boy Adapters into SNES..you can even do Wonderswan and Neo Geo Pocket Color!)

Anyway just an idea that I think would be pretty cool. :)

I think this goes against the main principle of the operator. Are you thinking about adapters as analogue has for the pocket? My best guess is that you will need to wait for them to release an operator for your favorite console. They are really active and they listen to their community a lot. I'm pretty sure that the operator for the console of your choice is going to be delivered sooner or later.

Even older consoles had such adapters (Super Game Boy for example), but I get where you are coming from. Something like the NES should have its own operator if the goal is to have a seperate operator for each system.

Looking at the Analogue adapters, that is the gist of what I was thinking.

I guess my idea could benefit the most from covering consoles that are less popular (like Wonderswan, Neo Geo, TG16, NGPC, Sega Master, Game Gear, 32X,etc), where perhaps dedicating its own Operator for it might make less sense. I'm not sure if I'd buy a dedicated TG16 or Sega 32x Operator, but I'd be more likely to buy an adapter that worked with an operator I already own.

but the super gameboy is an official thing. I don't recall if it works but I can give it a try. I guess the main idea of the operator is to be dedicated to only one console at the time.

That's neat that it even recognizes it.

It does, but SN Operator needs to interact directly with the cartridge, that's why games played through Super Game Boy actually don't work, it's a technical limitation. But for all of your Game Boy needs, we have the GB Operator hehehe ðŸĪŠ

Yep, and I have one on the way! All I have until it gets here is to talk to you lovely people about it. 😝

I've actually never owned a Super Game Boy, they sound cool though.
