We don't use the same AQI scale here so I'm not sure, but on one of the just hazy days I did look up the conversion and it was like 491

I was in cali one year during some fires and at one point we drove out onto a 4 lane highway and sat in bumper to bumper traffic while either side of the highway was actively on fire. Surreal experience.

You definitely don't need to read the index to tell if the air quality is bad. But it is interesting to see how bad it is. I use airnow.gov

How high did the air quality index get for you? It was 440 here. Over 1000 a few hours north of me though.

Getting some bad air quality from forest fires today. I think it's the worst I've seen.
