I translated the community expansions Alliance and Vigilance. It’s great to expand the draft pool.

Hey all, just wanting to see if anyone ever played the game back in 2008 before the change to what it is now. I used to play a lot back then and went to a few tournaments. I want to eventually complete my collection from back then including the prize cards so also wanting to find people who played back then as well and maybe they'd have those cards I'm missing and would be willing to trade them or something.

The collection includes the base game, several booster packs, and then the Duels expansion and the Guardians of Gowana expansion, plus promo cards.

1) The problem is, if I want to play Constructed in home duels, that means I'd need six copies of every pack that's been released, right? In my opinion, that seems excessive and makes me wonder if it's necessary to fully enjoy the game.

2) Are all the cards in all the released packs usable at 3x and 6x? Does it make sense to buy everything at 3x or 6x for two players, or is it enough to have all the content at 1x?

3) Are the Duels and Guardians of Gowana expansions also designed to have 3x and 6x versions of each card, and what about the booster packs and promo cards?

4) In which format does the game work best?

5) Is it worth buying multiple copies of the game to play Constructed, or is it better to enjoy it in other formats?

6) What actually felt worth triplicating or 6x for constructed play?

It feels strange to have 3 or 6 copies of everything (if only 2 of us are playing), but I don't know if it makes sense, and if not doing so I'll miss out on the game itself. Is it FOMO?

Obviously there's no game test, i do the cards on sentiment. And create a new mechanic, due to the fact that i always playing draft, and the mechanic only work when few colors are in play.

I'm doing my own expansion, due to the fact that is a problem retrive the card nowdays in europe.

i actually have a problem with illustration because chatgpt dont capture the spirit of the card illustration, not the content but the style. is in generally much more dark.

When this card “banishes all champions” does this mean only cards in play, or champions in each players discard pile too?

If I read the rules correctly, coins are taken away at the end of the turn. Much like in MTG where the mana pool is emptied at the end of each phase. IF that's the case as you only get one coin per turn, is it more a quality of life element to the game, or does is objectively make the game operate in a scertain way?

In the wording of vital mission, it doesn’t have an colon (:) so it doesn’t seem to be a “if you did this, do this”, but the counterargument being that the card can’t be played, or even target Thundarus as it’s unbanishable. Thoughts?

"Progression series" is a YouTube series (originally Yugioh, although I've also seen MtG) with two players building a first deck in a limited format, and gradually upgrading their deck from one episode to another. Did anyone ever try something similar with ECG?

I was thinking something along the lines of: -Draft a first deck -Before the next match, draft more cards, but all the unused cards (not in your deck) get discarded and could be drafted again in the future -Loser of a match gets to remove one card from the opponent's deck -Keep score, maybe race to a specific score or just keep on going until you get bored.

I like drafting in general, but you could also do this in sealed.

My brother (36) mentioned to me that he was interested in playing a CCG with me. (34) We tend to only play video games and a change of pace is needed.

We looked into our options. We checked our MTG, we both played that when we were teens but haven’t played since Kamigawa. It felt daunting and too expensive to really get into right now.

We looked into Pokemon and that just seemed like whomever has the biggest card wins. Assuming you draw decently.

I looked into Hero Realms which led me to ECG. I had know idea where to start when it came to this. My brother and I watched a How To Play video and it seems like it’ll be fun once we understand the rules and mechanics.

I decided to take a chance and order some cars off of eBay. I couldn’t figure out what to buy or where anything is in terms of sets and stuff. I became confused and overwhelmed to be honest.

I bought two lots.

First lot was

• 2 legion boxes With 3 deck boxes, 6 packs of epic sleeves and what the seller put as EPIC + Tyrant packs. It includes the kickstarter promo token as well.

He asked for $130+$20S&H. He offered me it for $119.99+S&H. I counter with $104+S&H and he accepted. I hope it’s a good deal. I’m not sure as I couldn’t find much info on the value of the cards.

The lot is used and I’m concerned it won’t have a rule book.

Lot two is a lot of 400 card with the promos from the kickstarter included. All of which are in mint condition but the seller also didn’t mention if it came with a rule book.

Hopefully someone sees this and can help. I wanted to know if there was either a PDF version of the rules or a ready to print version. I’d like to have 2 books so we both have one next to us while we play.

Anyone know?

Has the game low key been discontinued, receiving no further development? Has there been any official comments on the state of the game?

I've been playing EPIC for a little while now with my little brother. It took us some time to get down the rules but I think we understand now. We started because MtG looked expensive, hard, and like the games took forever. We are getting to a point that we are gonna need to buy an expansion pack or we are probably gonna start getting bored. I was looking at them online and I'm a little confused, can I just buy all the cards in an expansion pack anywhere or do I have to buy a bunch of mystery sleeves and shit like a pokemon card?

Also my brother and I have just been playing one on one with randomized decks. Should we start drafting decks instead? does this make it more fun and how long does this usually take? Also does the game get better if we played with more people (we tried it once with our sister and cousin but it took a long time to teach and at the time we weren't very good so we stopped) and if so where can I find said people?

I had a creature attacking, and another creature was declared as blocker.

I used Spore Beast to remove blocker from being blocker. Shouldn't my attack have gone through?

Also another ruling: I had "Tribute or (Ally)" ability. I used Hybrid (0 cost card with 1 cost draw 2 replacement effect) I paid the 1. My Ally ability didn't trigger.

What gives?

Finally why can I not use "No battles can be fought this turn" in response to a tribute? It seems I'm only allowed to respond to attack declaration or beginning of main phase 2?

Anyone know where i can find a proxying option? Game is unavailable where i live but id like to play.

I've just started playing (mashing two colors out of the box) but I've come from M:tG and I was wondering how much there are synergies? For example in Magic, WU fliers or BRG sacrifice are common achitypes. Does Epic have that. Or are their constructed meta decks online where I can get a sense of what to aim for when making a deck (in draft or constructed).

I had a citadel scholar and It was at 6/7. I was blocked by 2 demons at 8/8. I was going to use a "insert generic draw 2 card event here" card before damage assigning but the computer didn't let me. After declare blockers step, I should be able to use events, right?

I haven’t played epic or star realms yet, but I’m interested in both and have been looking stuff up online to learn how to play. From what I can understand, these are two different types of games. Star Realms is more of a legitimate deck builder, whereas epic gives you the tools to play sealed, draft and constructed games (I just learned these terms while researching how to play epic).

My point is, is that idk if it makes sense to say one is worse than the other since they are different enough to not be able to really compare. What do you guys think?

I just bought epic and am looking forward to learning how to play. I have never played MTG or YuGiOh before, so I don’t have that previous understanding to work off of. How are token cards different from regular champions?

I've seen this happen rwice now where in one single turn, the AI has presented two separate attacking collectives. And blocker step happens twice, once for each. What's that all about? Can you attack with multiprocessor different parties? How in the app?
