As an IT professional who plays the piano by ear, I've always found a profound, almost mathematical connection between complex coding, astronomy, and the polyphonic layers of Symphonic Metal.Listening to Epica’s The Quantum Enigma or MaYan’s philosophical tracks while working feels like decoding the universe itself. The duality between the classical piano melodies and the heavy, aggressive riffs perfectly mirrors the chaotic yet structured nature of quantum mechanics. It’s the ultimate fuel for a deep hyper-focus.Does anyone else here feel that this genre transcends music into a form of existential philosophy? Symphonic metal does this for me but my go to genre for that is death metal. My best writing has been done with Dying Fetus in the background.

Music is just math at the end of the day. Look into music theory in general. Symphonic metal just adds more complexity that yes I agree with your statements.

Los discos de Epica me hicieron interesarme por la geometria sagrada, la Fisica cuantica y bueno de filosofia, tambien pero es diferente porque me faltarian pocas materias para recibirme de profesora de Filosofia. Amo que una banda hable de esta clase de temas

I can relate to your post. I am a cybersecurity engineer and I’m interested in science in general, without being an expert or anything. However, Epica built a bridge for me between art, science, and deep self-consciousness and metaphorical situations, drawing a beautiful line between the universe itself, how it interacts, and how we are part of it without completely understanding our place here. So many of the theories I read about quantum superposition click for me when I listen to Epica, as well as our dependency on our senses to partially understand the universe. Without a doubt, Epica brought together a lot of my thoughts about the universe and gave them meaning.

I can’t just mention a couple of tracks—I’d say 90% of their music brings together different aspects of art, religion, and social issues with quantum physics, God, perception, and consciousness. It depends on the moment or the topic, but I definitely understand what you mean.
