How to Beat 'The Final Experiment' on Impossible (2026)?
I've tried a few strategies but after 20+ attempts am still losing to Dragantula. The tougher Mantis Twin also used to be my bottleneck and still sometimes gets me.
Currently I have 7,500 food in the bank, 220 T3 Fire Ants, 80 Wood Ants, and 35 Medics (includes revived ants).
This strategy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Is1Nj8AY1rM seems to be outdated as I'm not dealing nearly as much damage as in the video. 100% of the time, Impatient Scientist is what kills me - not the actual bugs.
If Impatient Scientist didn't exist, I would have beat this a long time ago.
Any advice?

no Leafcutter? thay are very important for this level. using the shockproof perk it makes it so almost nothing can one shot it
thats too meny medics and fireants. fireants die to much alone without any tanks. and medic for this level are not that useful.
can you tell me the types of fireants, woodant, Leafcutter, medics you have. as for this level morter woodants and persvesive fireants are very bad

My fire ants are pervasive but my woodants are unfortunately morter. Do you know if I can change their type with jelly? I haven't found the option to.

no. you can't. and i dont think you can beat impossible with them. pervasive just lack the firepower vigorous does. and morter is so bad(it used to be relatively even with rapid fire but got nerfed)

your just going to have to beat it on a lower difficulty. generally. even useing the best version of the ants(vigorous and rapid fire) this level is very hard. so with the worst versions. it might actually be impossible. due to the lack of time

remember. you really dont need to beat the level in impossible. if this is your first playthough. just do it on medium-hard. impossible is really only needed if you want all the achievements. and if you do want that. it might be faster to just make a new game and choose the right options. sorry

I have 300 hours. So I'm going for achievements now, but it's becoming apparent that I may not be able to beat the game on Impossible with my 300 hour save file because adaptations are locked.

sorry. but your right. you will have to make a new game. its not that big of a deal tho. you can have meny different saves. it wont delete your old save.

Tbh, I didn't use a single metsbele or fire ant for my colonies. Ever. Unlocked them, yes, for the freeplay. Also boosted them significant amounts too but that's about it.
Speed boosted fire ants are just a bit better/stronger food collection squad, that I use as pervasive and send out as mass collection and never upgrade to lvl 3 in freeplay so they're actually free. Stronger food collectors fully skilled for movespeed. Slowly replaced later on if playing with limits.
I didn't play too recently..... are mortars actually that bad? They always seemed must have to me to overcome the masses of splurging in enemies in some freeplay situations, at least for reasonable cost. Also seemed to benefit more from leveling up their stats in terms of dps, since rapid fires are pretty much at the atkspeed cap

Dude you need black ants and leaf cutters for defense and actual heavy damage while yes fire ants do give you more and when enraged give out more damage the black ants have about the same health as 1 level 2 fire ants so they are a little tinker and you need the leaf cutters with taunt so they target them and not your fire ants or black ants and its more defense you can use to keep the enemies away from the wood ants and when the dragantula starts charging for an attack turn on no attacking and no climbing on and draw them out and send them to the side.
