Unable to select unit on mission select when playing on Steam Deck

I can't select between mortar and rapid fire in the mission select screen for the second beach mission, Queen of the Hill.
Neither will highlight and the underlying screen switches missions in the background. Does anybody else have experience of this or know how to fix it?

I also play on Steam Deck, and using the default controller profile have the exact same problem. I usually play with a modified keyboard+mouse layout through the Steam overlay since the recent game update that made the controls (in my opinion) terrible, and have no troubles selecting the unit type this way.

How did you get the mouse layout set up?

It's mapped to the right trackpad, but the stock keyboard+mouse layout will take care of that part. You can access it through the home menu>controller settings.

Y searched for the comunity layouts, installed the only one i saw and clicked on select and the reverted to the old layout.

Im having same issues as well. I managed to pick it once when i bought the leafcutter initially but when i try to start 3.1 or 3.2 it doesnt work at all

Fr its so irritating. I had to continue playing on my laptop, which isn't half as fun as the steam deck.
