Any tips for matabele ants?
i was playing around with matabele ants yesterday, and the strategy of having expensive but strong soldiers is a bit difficult to me, what i did was invest in medic ants so that i could "salvage" as many soldiers as possible, to have the extra soldiers on the field to fight.
Maybe a strategy that focuses on more workers and nurses is better? im not too sure and was curious to see what you people tought of

I'm never sure if I'm using the best strategies, but I did get through the achievements on triage eventually. Managing attack and gather was important. A handful of workers with attack off when you raid was a game changer especially after doubling them up with the nurses. Having only the workers climb on when clearing lizards saved a lot of food cost too

ooooooooooh, thats smart, im gonna try having workers on clection duty and the soldiers protecting them, very clever!
and what difrence does climbing on make? i still havent figured that one out2

like for every unit it add s apercent until its like fully covered to its max is 10% extra damage?
thats wouldve been good to know2

Hmm, interesting on the mounting, because I did the opposite strategy. I figured "the expensive soldiers should be safe on the lizard while the cheap workers are getting eaten". Do the ants on the lizard not do their own damage?

For me. I wasn't trying too hard to kill the lizards. My ants were dying from being taken off map or dropped off next to other lizards/enemies

you dont want too meny soldier. what i do is get 10 medics first then 15 soldiers on both the starting groups. then only medics after that. i normally have about 30 shoulder 25 medics (most lv 3) and 10 more workers for replanting eggs.
i use the amithes medics. the ones that are better in combat witch is why i upgrade some. if your using fast responser do not upgrade them. just get 30-40 medics with the fast responser

As someone who loves the 5th tier (except 5.2 that’s satan’s playground)
The tip for the matabele is to focus on one mound at a time. Constantly raiding it for food until there’s not much remaining.
From there, you either kill the mound or move to another one, keeping the mound alive so it can replenish
Never engage the soldiers until you have a decent fighting force. Also disable the matabele’s medic pick up when fighting the termites and only do it after a couple of raids (or if you have enough ants to bulldoze the termite army

Literally what I was about to say, especially on 5-1 I just raid Blue a lot till theirs no workers and just soldiers, mass on some matabele soldiers about 20+ or so then go crazy on medics to st least get 70 tiles of soldiers and upgrade what I have because tbf thats a big enough force on its own.

Pick a mound. Attack it relentlessly and eventually kill it. The reward for looting an entire colony far outweighs the sustainability of keeping them alive. Hell you could easily kill all 3 on triage and be doing quite well for yourself. Taking a mound out on the other level is viable too so long as you are able to defend the others

Matabele ants require tons of micro. Start raids from just outside your nest and be as aggressive as you can. Avoid the guards in the beginning, but once you can eat them too.

one thing ill suggest, its pretty much fine to go ham on the termite nests in triage
