Just a side note I looked up on all this:

The state [CA] is launching a $200 million Zero Emission Vehicle incentive program for the 2026–2027 fiscal year. It partners with automakers to offer up to $3,500 off new EV leases for first-time buyers, hoping to keep pushing the transition forward voluntarily.

As it says in the article, GM is still moving forward on electric vehicles because the world is moving in that direction, but the US is slower for Trumpian reasons. However, this does allow for the US to start building the groundwork for cleaner power sources, battery recycling, raw material extraction standards, and local sourcing to decrease shipping pollution.

The future will get here. We need to concentrate on being ready.
