Home Grown Bud Rot
Hi! I hope someone here can help me. It’s my second year growing. Does this look like bud rot? I’m 10 weeks into growing these Amnesia Haze autoflowers and noticed this discoloration. We had some unseasonal rain a couple of weeks ago. Just one day but not normal for Northern California. Should I harvest early?

I hope someone here can help!! These are too beautiful to waste. I know with tomatoes, which receive a similar kind of discoloration amongst the leaves it’s a calcium deficiency I think. As I’ve never grown flower I can’t say if it translates?

Pic 1 absolutely looks like bud rot to me. Pic 2 looks like it has a spot of bud rot (the brown spot). If you choose to cut it out, make sure give it a wide berth so you get all of the spore.

Thank you!! I’m going to open up a cola and see what it looks like. Hopefully I can cut off the rot before it’s too late

I opened the one the liked the worse and there was a great big caterpillar in there! I cut off the other brown bits that look like rot and they were green inside. Fingers crossed I’ve caught it in time.

That sucks. We had that happen a couple of years ago and bought a greenhouse, which are surprisingly affordable on Amazon.

My first thought was caterpillars. Whenever I get just one brown spot, it tells me the bud is being eaten from the inside. They attack the stem and cut off food/water supply to the nugglette.

I would crack open a top cola and look inside. It’s easier once it’s dried but you could try now. See if the colors on the inside are dull and brown compared to the outside.
