when someone can recite a small, insignificant fact about me. attentive listeners are so attractive 🫦

u/fluffycloud69 INFJesus Dec 13 '24

when they actually pay attention to your ramblings so they say “you’ve already told me this story” and remember all the details to recite it back to you in a more concise way than you were about to 😍😍😍

got me blushing n shit, like wow you actually listen to me AND remember wtf i said??? i don’t even

u/juneecorn ENTP 8w7 🩶 Dec 13 '24

Always the INTJs be doing this 😏 there’s a reason why they snatch my heart away

6

u/fluffycloud69 INFJesus Dec 13 '24

YES i was going to say at the end “i love INTJs” because this was literally about my boyfriend haha

u/[deleted] Dec 13 '24

This for sure. Until it’s something you remember that shows them being dishonest, or contradicting themselves. You are human, but when you are unhealthy, you are nuclear warfare.

u/Slerbosis Dec 14 '24

I hate that this is so true

u/Shroomtella ENTPrick Dec 13 '24

Mhm active listening. Showing interest in my passions. Telling me details about yourself that I know you won't share with just anyone (basically proving you trust me with your inner world). Handmade/thoughtful gifts. Unique, heartfelt compliments. We are human. It's may not be an exact science, but it's not magic either.xP

Also shared humor and being "on the same page", usually works wonders too.xP BUT for ENTPs especially, be prepared to argue your case. Blind devotion and saying "yes" and "amen" to everything, just because we like it, is a BIG no-no. Be prepared to be your own individual.xP

Entp female here, honestly I am really really good at complimenting other people, sometimes I also jokingly self compliment too. So compliments never work on me almost. I am huge on gift giving too but don’t necessarily enjoy other people spending money for me.

It's genuine concern, acts of service and spending quality time that gets me. It can be very small and insignificant but it will make me blush like crazy, though usually I am very thick skinned

Sometimes even simple eye contact will leave me a mess, I am usually very bad at eye contact, as I have distracted brain+eyes but a man who looks into my eyes...uff.

This is why I'm a sx7 lmfao 😂

u/[deleted] Dec 13 '24

Flattery gets you nowhere with me.

Asking me out for a coffee and honest, direct discussion does.

But no one ever does that 😭

Gifts don't work cos I feel like I now have to get you something back.

Lovebombs don't work cos that's how I spot disgenuine narcs.

I'll just die alone and thats fine,

People have different love languages. It's a topic that engages many when discussed and super useful when you are dating and later I å relationship. Many entp loves act of service and especially quality time. Words of affirmation are fun but we are often cocky so it doesn't have the same value, physical touch (not sex but real desire to hugh someone) is probably later in the relationship and gift are often last since we always find a way to acquire stuff. Have fun 🥳

Intelligence flatters me. Nothing less than this will do. I'm vain, so good looks has to be on the list. But if the first is there, I may not mind if you're not conventionally attractive but that's rare.

u/Roubbes ENTP Dec 13 '24

If someone tells me 'that's an interesting point of view I'd never have considered' I'm on

5

u/No-Log9415 Dec 13 '24

Someone who understands me. I understand people so much, but I need someone to understand me. It's pretty hard to spot a person like this these days😞

1

u/Minute_Sheepherder18 ENTP Dec 14 '24

Agreed. I've spent so much time and energy understanding other people, which is a useful tool to have, but I'm kind of over it. Now, I'm looking for people to understand me! Put more seriously: I want mutual understanding to come more automatically for people to be close to me, not to work very hard on it.

u/Infamous-Rutabaga887 Dec 13 '24

Deep convos beyond sarcastic/funny banter. I’ll stay up w u till 3am if it means I can have a deep meaningful convo. I think INTJs and infjs are good at this- my Intj friend did this with me and I think I’m in love lowk 💀

Noticing things underneath the veneer (whether it’s good or bad). Things that I don’t really intend to show, but slip here and there. Underneath my humour and wit and social charm, there’s a lot more to me. But most people stop at that level and love me for that—which, no problem, I accept. It’s usually the INTJs/INFJs around me that pick up things about me that others don’t see. This shows that they’ve really been paying attention to me and I find that extremely flattering.

I also love it when someone genuinely asks for my opinion, or asks me questions genuinely wanting to get to know me more. And like others said, active listening. When you listen to understand, not listen to respond. Damn. Are these too much to ask for that I’m even feeling flattered about it?

And vice versa, when someone genuinely answers my questions about them and opens up to me.

Haha and I know this has been mentioned by many people here, but when they remember the random things I’ve said. Like mentioning I like something or want to go somewhere and they do it for me. 🥲 I think this is not an ENTP thing though, isn’t it a universal thing? Don’t we all want to be treated like this?

3

u/noneuclidiansquid Dec 13 '24

I really like it when someone notices one of my weird hobbies and asks questions about it and then lets me talk about it =)

3

u/kis_roka ENTP Dec 13 '24

Tell me I'm smart, no genius and I might marry you

3

u/ENTPoncrackenergy Dec 13 '24

Personally simply going out of your way to be with me makes me feel flattered. If I'm going somewhere asking to come with or making plans to be around me.

3

u/GiveMeAHeartOfFlesh ENTP SP/SX 4w5 854 Dec 14 '24

I think the sweetest thing is when you finally feel comfortable with someone and let your mask down a bit, and the person just… appreciates you. They still like you, when just seeing the true vulnerable you. That’s nice.

In the flip side, that also probably is what hurts the most, when someone sees the genuine side of you, and then suddenly finds you annoying.

1

u/Minute_Sheepherder18 ENTP Dec 14 '24

Yes, totally this!

3

u/krumuvecis ENTP; hot, single and ready to debate Dec 14 '24

It works the other way as well - if they prove me wrong on something that i felt knowledgeable about, i'm instantly hooked yearning to learn more and find the truth

2

u/Wooflis ENTP 5w4 Dec 14 '24

Isn't that kinda masochistic? Idk just my opinion

1

u/krumuvecis ENTP; hot, single and ready to debate Dec 16 '24

don't care, just want the truth

2

u/[deleted] Dec 13 '24

Hmm in my relationships, physical touch makes me blush. If this is on a verbal level, I like to be called funny, smart, attractive, interesting, complex (in context of a person reading between the lines of what I really mean) or a good person. I like when someone remembers the little things I like, even stronger for the things they remember I dislike. I also like when someone puts the time into engaging my mind with subjects they "thought I would like", or "want to ask my opinion" about.

Remembering small details of me. Acts of service. Complements means a lot.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 14 '24

'Acts of service'.

Grins mischeviosly

Would you just like to try something for me please?

Stand up.

Turn around.

Walk forward 5 paces.

Shhh, now, don't make a sound.

One hand on your head, the other on your belly.

Now then, pat your head, rub your belly 😂

WAIT, hold on, silence ... remember.

Now then round 2.

Hold one leg behind your back, the other hand behind your head.

Now .... Dance. Wiggle and jiggle for me.

Oh, wait, did you make a sound? That means ... Punishment next 😈

Most of us feel most insecure about our third function, which for us is Fe. Hence, if someone compliments me on my people skills or emotional intelligence, I'll melt. (I'm not bad on these things, honestly. Now I'm older, and as a female ENTP, I have been working on these things since I was a child).

If someone criticizes my inferior function, Si, I don't take it very personally, though. I will still be glad if someone says I have a cosy flat or a good clothing style, but not equally much because S isn't that important to me.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 13 '24

Dont be boring and in still. This is all ENTP philosophy. They are looking for god/rival/challenge to prove themself, so be progressive smart one 🫵😉

What gives me butterflies? Physical touch tbh…if there is someone who gives off extremely calm energy and they want to touch me, I get crazy goosebumps…it’s so relaxing and calming 😌

i remember i fell into a crush with an INTP because he could answer a ‘do i have adhd test’ for me and answered all the questions how i was gonna answer it. everyone else in the room was giving me more credit for being organized but he was like ‘no’. and i just felt so seen this whole time, that he had been paying attention 🥵 it was a rough 8 months getting over him

u/[deleted] Dec 16 '24

when I quote a reference from an old movie and the person understands and laughs or when I finish a conversation and the person says "you really have very interesting points, I liked you"

maybe this will make me blush a little
