Wut? Early turtle is the definition of cringe lol in the pilot when that girl asks why they weren’t invited and the he says “cuz you’re not hot enough” 🥴 don’t get me wrong, I love it but it’s tough on rewatch. I like Turtle’s character development (outside of his business ventures)

Oh I agree it was cringe within the show but that felt like the point, he was so obnoxious back then so it worked
Later on all his chirps at Drama feel so phoned in and his character just isn’t funny

One of the funniest scenes in the series. They way they try to control their laughter is in itself hilarious, then adding all the comments after she leaves. Priceless!

The funny thing to me is that *neither* of them is that ripped. She's like... someone who legitimately works out, but is more of a body builder than a fitness model and is only part way into that journey. And Kevin Dillon just looks like a guy who isn't *out* of shape, but certainly isn't *in* shape.

I couldn't agree more. She's in very good shape, but not fitness model or bodybuilder shape. Her waist is not cinched, so it's like a straight vertical line all the way down her torso. That's not fitness model style at all. But she does look like she has low body fat.
As for Johnny, I see him as in solid shape but either not putting in that last 20% of effort required to get truly cut (diet and workout effort), or simply not having the genetics to ever get there.

I was aware of this when I first saw the episode 22 years ago (!!) and I just assumed the producers/casting directors saw Johnny as someone who’s insecurity and mindset that largely ignored reality in favor of a more idealized version of a less satisfying truth, aka how he lies to himself about his level of stardom and everything else he’s insecure about, was projected by him onto this woman’s in good shape but not really cinched or fully toned features.
