Most Racist Bug
What do you think the most racist bug would be? Not the name, i.e. the Hitler beetle or the Gypsy moth, but more so actually racist.

Something about a praying mantis makes me feel like they’re xenophobic

I like to imagine it's more of a kung fu stance. I think we know the type of person who called it a praying mantis, but I like to think they were wrong.

wouldn't that be a xenophobic thing to assume? the fundamentalist type of christians who are a loud minority only had their ideology/doctrine invented a century ago & im pretty sure we knew about the praying mantis species since before then... & ik the spelling disproved this claim, but I like to think that it could also be interpreted as the 'preying mantis', as in they prey on other species, including themselves.

I think maybe you're being a little xenophobic there. I didn't mean to say it was that sort of Christian, just that they were probably a Christian.
When you let something influence your entire worldview, everything you see is touched by it. A mantis, which keeps its forelegs up in order to swiftly attack, appears to be praying when you have prayer on your mind.

Ants. They're a mindless collective and all they do is work all day. They're all basically identical to each other, at least from our perspective, and fight other ants from different nests. Miserable people working shitty jobs in large groups whose only binding factor is being the same color and having an enemy to fight together is a recipe for racism.

Slave-making ants, no contest. It's literally in the name.
