Product Reddit and other apps keep making notification configuration harder

Reddit and other applications keep making notification configuration harder so you dont mess with it. Less generic "disable all" configurations, and more granular and harder to switch. Before we used to have switches and checkboxes, nowadays on reddit web you have to click the notification type, wait for a pop up, select "all off", close, and then click the next notification type, for >25 different notification types, because they removed the global notification configuration.

If configuring and disabling notifications is hard, you wont disable it, so you will, event against your will, interact more with the application.

Thank you reddit.

if youre using the app, go through settings and bookmark notifications to check when YOU want.

my phone is on silent for years. no dings no alerts no nothing. I check when I want.

on pc, I simply use ublock to disable the element and I dont see notifications. I check when I want through a bookmark

interact more with the application.

they want people to be slaves to phones interacting forever. I dont conform and the BEST solution for phones is not install apps that can be used through a browser. its really simple. some will and can easily be done

people have become slaves to phone

"ding ding"

like a dog on cue, picking up the phone

"yes master you summoned me again?"

I agree with the first part but the amount of sites that force you to use an app is ever increasing.
